I just love the headdress! Very Happy

Just a tip: Maybe you should lighten your eyebrows a bit. Satine's a blonde and otherwise, one might think your blonde wig is just part of the headdress.

Otherwise, it's a great work. Smile

Yeah....I was thinking the same thing about my brows once I saw the pics. Rolling Eyes

Bushy black caterpillars aren't exactly screen accurate, so I plan to introduce them to the tweezers and some kind of temporary lightening before I troop in this.

I finally got this finished! It certainly has taken me long enough.

Looking at the pic, I think I need to pull my skirt down a bit, but other than that I'm happy with how it turned out.

Your work turned out beautiful. I am still in process on mine. Too many other projects keep putting this one on the back burner. May I ask a few questions and if you have photos of detail close ups, would you share them?

  1. What did you use for your little tassel things hanging from the light blue part of the skirt?
  2. What does the material in the light part of the skirt look like close up?
  3. What did you use for your "calla lily" flowers on your headdress?
  4. What did you use for your disc for the forehead?

That was me. Very Happy I marched with the Mando Mercs and was their "bounty".

The D*Con parade was a torture test for a first troop in a costume, but it held up well. The headpiece stayed on and didn't fall apart, even in the wind.

1. The brown tassels are just brown rayon tassels that I bought from an interior decor type fabric store. The beaded drops are made of purple dyed agate and turquoise shell coins.

2. I'll try to get some closeup pics as soon as I get unpacked from the con. It is a silky sky blue rayon jacquard or damask like fabric with little paisleys in the weave. I cut up an old bellydance skirt to make those pieces!

3. The lilies are made of craft foam with the stamens made of green glass beads and floral wire. I tried leather and a couple of other materials, but the foam came out the best. I may eventually upgrade to some type of fabric.

4. The forehead disc is made of sculpey and glued onto a piece of fake leather. I just painted the pattern onto it, and glued on a dyed shell cabochon.

It was so much fun wearing this costume at Dragon*Con! I was "captured" by the Mando Mercs, placed in the SW costume contest, and posed for many, many pictures. Fun times.

I need to get more comfortable boots though...I'm not used to heels and the ones I wore just about killed me. Rolling Eyes

And they were good ones too! I like how Satine is wearing something stylistically similar to the clothing of the rest of the Mandalorians, when in previous episodes her clothing was such a sharp contrast. This one has a very Art-Deco feel to it.

Already taking screen caps. Wink

I want to do Luminara before taking on any other new projects, but this dress has definitely been added to the queue.
