It's based on the Rosie the Riveter poster.
And stop reading the web sites complaining about the casting in The Last Airbender movie. _________________

In addition to the fact that this is a nod to Rosie the Riveter, the graphic does reflect, at this time, the ethnic make up of our female Troopers.
I hope that in the future this will no longer be the case and hope that ladies of all ethnic backgrounds will join in and not only make a Trooper costume, but join this Squad as well....the graphic can be adjusted...
change happens all the time.
It is also painfully obvious that there were really NO females at all in the Trooper Ranks in the original movies, nor in the ranks of the Empire. _________________

Disappointing, but maybe it had something to do with the time they were made.

I always saw the Empire as not only xenophobic and "humancentric" (ok, not a real word), but misogynistic, too. _________________

and...you are probably 100% correct Lori!
back in those days...there were no females serving in combat positions in the real armed forces..
and Crix...
No...Toryn was command.....she does not count..
and Beezer is kinda not really real..
I don't think she ended up actually on screen..
that photo of her is cropped from some odd promotional photo of a bunch of Endor Commandos that were standing around a seated Darth Vader...clearly not from the movies..

and come on ladies...
we are getting killed by Sunrider Base...
lol...
isn't anyone else interested?
I sent out messages from the Tantive, Endor Bunker, and Hoth Groups letting the members know this is here...
No one has spoken up to be Squad Leader...
so if no one speaks up after the e-mails go out to the groups...
I will take it..
that is if I qualify..
will have to read over the requirements for Leader..
I may be ineligible...
and...
this is awkward...
I am RAID Command Staff...and don't feel right approving "myself"...
I will defer the application (as soon as Squad Leader is determined) to XO Bill Blackburn and to Crystal and Donna..
From the Charter:
• REGULATION 2 – Honorary Squad Formation & Ratification
RAID members may apply to the RAID Command Staff for the creation of an Honorary Squad. Proposals must be made in writing via AMENDMENT B (Application to form an Honorary Squad), specify Trooper type and include a Unit Designation, proposed leader (if any) and a description of its reason for existing. Honorary Squads will be extremely limited and approval will be rare.
Honorary Squads must follow the same Designation and Crest rules as laid down in ARTICLE VI/REGULATIONS 3A-3C.
• REGULATION 3 – Honorary Squad Administration
Any proposed Honorary Squad would be tentatively headed up by a Squad Leader (SL) ratified by the RAID Command Staff. The leadership office of the Honorary Squad Leader is considered to be on “at-will” status and any term of service is determined by the RAID Command Staff.
The following pages contain AMENDMENT A - Application to form a RAID Squad/Fire Team and AMENDMENT B - Application for form a RAID Honorary Squad. _________________

There's a group of women in the Comm Center at Echo Base. They aren't Troopers, they're all dressed like Leia.
There's some promo pic or something that I've seen somewhere with them standing beside a shuttle, I think. _________________

the photo above is from a deleted scene from the evacuation of Hoth...

to be honest...
I don't know what these women are supposed to be...
they do have the exaggerated poofy collars of those seen in the command center....
dunno... _________________

The poofiness is for the long space flights. Its one of those attachable neck pillows!! I love those things. There is nothing worse than an 8hour flight and an extremely stiff neck!! |
