We started with the parts you can't just readily buy and we'll tackle the most difficult parts first and move onto the easy ones. Here is our forms for our own vacuum formed A-wing helmet as well as our 1st cast using those forms. Not too shabby but we used extra thick HIPS and of course some of the definition is lost. Still as the embellishments go on it still looks quite good.

The main body of our chest box will be HIPS with the detailed face being resin. That's coming up in the next week or so.

Something about the second pic doesn't look right. Too tall? Can't put my finger on it.

Yeah some tweaking needs to be done. I also think once the liner and leather cheek cushions go in place it will visually reduce the size of plastic. Fortunately my dad has a big head so the proportions aren't too off on him.

Overall size/ proportions look quite good to me.
But imho the top shield needs more curve - it looks quite straight on the pic.
Still impressive work so far, good luck for your further progress!

Its my dad's project so he works a bit on it here and there. I made and molded all the greeblies and he began the forms for the vacuum forming. I've got his leather padded cheek trim ready and coiled commo wire ready as well. We also make 1 of something and use it for the learning curve. Here's his WIP paint job, can you tell he likes antique motorcycles?

Looking pretty good there. The one thing I notice, however, is that those gloves are too short and the cuffs of them don't flare out enough.

Noted. As soon as we get some more deer skin leather and a fresh leather needle I'll give them another go. My machine even with thin leather and a so-called leather needle did not like sewing those gloves.

You could always just buy them, too. Razz

But but I was trying to level up through experience points. There is that satisfaction of saying "yes I did make this" even with its flaws and subtle over stitching.

Great job on this costume!
Only thing about the gloves is already said...

Congratulation, Johnny Havoc!
See you up there, and always in front of the others! Awing

Woohoo! My uniform was recently approved too! Now Nomad Squadron has a father and son wingman team! We worked on these at the exact same time so that we could maintain consistency and do adjustments to both simultaneously. This is probably my most comfortable SW costume.
