Secure Changing Area: Yes.
Unit No.: TBD
Parade Route: Approx. one half mile – Approximately one half mile - Official start at Niles Blvd. and Sullivans Underpass, continues straight on Niles Blvd. ending at the parking lot entrance to the Niles Merchants Association Train Car.
Deployment of GGG Assault Tank TX-203: Requested.

After the parade, we grab a bite at the Round Table Pizza, 37480 Fremont Blvd, Fremont. (510) 793-9393.

In addition to 501st Legion and GGG Code of Conduct, the following are Niles Festival of Lights Rules:
1. LIGHTS ARE MAGIC – This is a night parade that will feature a lot of lights. We encourage all parade entries to have things that light somewhere on the entry.

In other words, for this parade we can add holiday lights to our costumes! You can find battery powered light strings at places like Walmart, Target, etc. The small battery packs can usually be concealed in pockets, boots, belt pouches, etc.

2. NO THROWING OF FAVORS FROM PARADE ROUTE. This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS as spectators, particularly children, will run out into the road to retrieve favors and could be struck by a moving vehicle. Favors could strike someone in the crowd.

3. NO PERSONS OR ARTICLES HANGING OVER THE SIDES OF FLOATS OR VEHICLES. This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! This is a serious liability factor that could result in personal injury. If a unit is in violation of this rule, it will be removed from the parade immediately.

5. FORWARD MOTION PARADE: The parade must continue in a forward motion, unless your unit is specifically notified to stop by a parade official. Any entry that stops to perform for the judges will be penalized in scores.

6. ENTRY APPEARANCE: All participants should appear in a uniform or costume.

7. FLOATS/VEHICLES: All decorated vehicles must carry a current dated 2A10BC fire extinguisher. No persons will be allowed to ride on the outside of a vehicle or over the edge of a float. Float riders must be secured on the float with handholds or chairs. All decorations must be no flammable. ALL vehicles must be properly registered and insured.
Will someone get this big walking carpet out of my way!!

Provided I get a project completed by Friday afternoon - I'll be there! But if there are no other RL sign ups I'm going to wear my 501st costume (don't want to be the lone rebel).

FYI - this is a light parade so the lightsabers are a lot of fun to bring along if you have a Jedi costume.

You can also (optionally, not required) get lights at Walmart or Target to add to your costume. The strings of lights with battery packs are great to pin on to the costume, hiding the battery pack in a pocket, boot, or belt pouch.
