What do people do for the pants? As a generic Jedi, I've worn khakis. I feel like I could wear a variation of them again for this costume.
Second, does the material of the robe matter that much? As in, I'm not sure I want a heavy wool robe for this, but if it's the difference in getting accepted, I'll go with it.
Thanks! _________________ Hello there. |

Personally I've always made my own pants for all of my costumes, but I know a lot of Legion members use Dickies (as were used in the film) or find some sort of off the shelf equivalent.
As for the robe I don't know what the Legion requirements are but ideally you're going to want a wool or wool like fabric for your robe so that it has the correct drape and weight. I believe for Legion members in hotter climates some have robes made of lighter weight fabrics so as to not overheat. I suspect if they use wool it would be made of a suiting weight rather than coat weight to help with this. _________________ Follow your Bliss -Joseph Campbell |

I have one made from suiting-weight wool.
it doesn't get too too hot. it's actually not that bad.
I've noticed a lot of people use linen as a substitute.
(but you'll want to invest in a garment steamer,
it tends to wrinkle more than wool). _________________

I am leaning towards wool. I think it looks fantastic when I've seen others wear that type of robe. _________________ Hello there. |

I've ordered a steamer. I am awful at ironing. I tend to create more wrinkles than I eliminate.
