I really love this costume. I wrote some standards for it and posted them in the "new/unfinished standards" thread. I still have a very long way to go on this costume, but here's my body suit and gloves:

My body suit and gloves are made from blue spandex.
I apologize for my hair looking so messy in the pic, and for my mirror having smudges on it..

Here are a bunch of reference images I've compiled for this costume:

I've posted more reference images in my standards on the costume standards forum.

I will be sculpting the hair clip out of golden sculpy (will be painting it with a nicer golden tone once it is finished baking.)
The rest of my jewelry is going to be made from golden colored sheet metal.
I still have to find a suitable sheer fabric to use for the cape.
For shoes, I found a pair on amazon that may work, but I would like a judges opinion first:

I'll post more progress soon Smile

Looks like you've got your 360 degree rotation and two sources. I look forward to seeing more of this. Smile

based on your reference images, I think the shoe would be ok. I'll check my comic tonight and see if there are any other images of the shoe. Does the figure have any type of a heel to the shoe,or is it a flat?

Secondly, does the blue match the blue of your bodysuit well? If not, you may do better getting a pair of flat dyable shoes. I think you can get them from payless for around $20 - $30 dyed.

Thanks Beth, I think my biggest concern with the shoe that I posted is that it seems to be very shiny. I think I may look for some dyable flats and dye them the same color as the jumpsuit/gloves.
My 3 sources for this costume are the action figure, the many comic book images, and the promo image that is on the cover of the action figure box.

i think the dyables is a good choice. I think it would look better than the shiny ones.

I just finished my hair ornament. I sculpted this from sculpey and then painted it copper gold. The lighting is my bathroom is very bright so it doesn't look as copper/gold as I would like..but I'll take some more pictures soon. I just took this picture to show my progress with the costume.
I used a very small fondant roller to smooth out the clay before baking, so it wouldn't look bumpy or have visible fingerprints all over it.
My hairstyle isn't correct in this picture, just took a quick shot of this to show how the hair ornament looks. Also, I superglued a small hair clip onto the inner part of the ornament to make sure it stays in place. So far, it has been in my hair for 3 hours now and has stayed perfectly in place! Smile

An update on this costume:

I've got the dyable flats! Smile And successfully dyed them the same shade of blue as the costume.

I have the hair band and hair clip finished.

Choker necklace is done, but I still need to sculpt the brooch on the choker.

Belt and belt buckle are finished.

I'm starting on the cloak. The action figure and promo image depicts the cloak being sheer, wheras in the comics, the cloak is not really sheer. So would sheer fabric be acceptable for this?

I also want to add that the member who has this costume approved as formal used a sheer fabric, in a lighter shade of blue than her jumpsuit and gloves.

I may be really late on this but be careful with the sheet metal jewelry. If you dont get the edges really rounded you will hate yourself an hour into wearing it. I learned that the hard way with my arm bands on my Padme Lake gown. I do suggest adding a thin layer of craft foam to the skin side making sure it doesnt show, you will really appreciate it on longer troops!

Thanks for the advice Smile ouch! sorry the sheet metal hurt you Sad

I'll be sculpting all of the jewelry, I finished on the hair clip (which was probably the hardest piece to sculpt) and now I've got to sculpt the neck brooch and armbands.

Update: Still working on this. I finally found some nice fabric for the cloak. I still need to create my armbands and neck brooch as well.

Guess I need a thermal detonator to toss down Xizor's chute. This looks great!

Thanks Jane Smile

I was thinking if the armbands go all the way around the arm or just partially lay on the arms..not sure yet.

You don't see this costume much. Glad to see you making it.
I agree that it would be best to dye some shoes but you could try (and I have no idea how it would turn out) to paint a flat modge podge over them to take out the shine.

I am now in the final stages of this costume Smile

The components I have completed:
-Jumpsuit and gloves. Even though my fabric is stretchy and does not fray, I wanted to finish the edges anyway, just to give it a neater look.
-Hair clip/headband. I sculpted my hair clip and gave it a golden/copper finish with acrylic paint. For my headband, I used a dark blue stretch headband and modified it to fit onto the sides of the hair clip.
-Shoes- Found some dyable flats and dyed them dark blue to match my jumpsuit.
-Belt- I used some white vinyl and painted it medium blue (in this costume, the belt is actually a lighter shade of blue than the jumpsuit.) I also made my golden belt buckle.
-Choker necklace- used extra fabric from the jumpsuit to create my necklace, and sculpted the golden brooch.
-Armbands- I used some aluminum and painted it golden/copper and then cut out the armbands, and sanded down the edges.

The only part I have left to finish is the cape. I found some semi-sheer light blue fabric (I chose a lighter blue because the cape seems to be a lot lighter in color than the jumpsuit.) Question for the judges: does the cape look rounded? It appears to be rounded to me.
