Almost sure I know the answer to this...... is this to dark of a color for a Outter Tunic?
Freakin botched my Dye job -.-
I just feel like its not enough redish color in the brown. The materials right I think but I think I might have dyed it to dark.

Top: Outter Tunic
Middle: Inner Tunic
Bottom: Robe material (Ignore that) -Also closer to the color I think it should be....

Thanks friends for any help!

I love that photo you posted! That arm is so amazing....

Yep so true. His outter has a LOT more red color to it ^.^ its closer to the bottom materials color I think (but still isn't quite right)

Wish I wouldn't have botched that dye job >. < joannes is on sale and out of the proper fabric. Typical. ...

I've been debating making this one... via TK409.com

Quote:
-------------------------
I just finished my "Anakin's Mechanical Hand." You wear it over your hand and it has
real lifelike movement. You can even use it to hold a lightsaber or pick up objects.
I realize it isn't COMPLETELY accurate. I used the AOTC Visual Dictionary photo as

reference. I started with this "Awesome Arm" toy from uncomyngifts.com.

I didn't have to modify it structurally at all. I primered it gray and painted it gold.
I added wires and small springs from an electronic surplus-type store (about $1).

Poke the ends of the colored wires into the hollow of the fingertips and run them the length of each finger.
In between each joint, I twist-tied down the colored wires to the finger with a smaller wire, then randomly
stuffed the colored wires into the hollow of the back of the hand. I used super-gel (super glue in gel form)
to glue the springs down in between each joint.

That's it! TK409 out!
-------------------------

And for comparison, here is the screen used arm...

Ok, that is FREAKING AWESOME!

Really brilliant use of materials. I'm sending this over to my buddy who does Anakin. We are looking to get him his OWN arm, as mine tends to well...... Give him Carpel Tunnel within a few hours. Hes got long skinny beautiful hands and I hate that every time he wears my arm it kills him within a matter of hours.

Here are some other resources to check out. All of these tutorials demonstrate the same basic design as that toy terminator arm, but each of them varies in their materials and specific details:

I'm back!!
and just so I don't have to start another thread.... here it goes.

My buddy who does Anakin for our Garrison really REALLY wants an Ani EP3 with robo arm so I've searched and I've searched and I've researched (and I even watched all the clone wars cartoons hoping for a Anakin glove off scene) and I came across this costume below...

1. I don't even think I need to ask if its approvable. I assume yes. its a costume and Master Skywalker is wearing it and its in the movie.
2. Has anyone made this costume? I assume no. Its a Legion 1st? If anyone knows if someones made it speak up! I want to know the color! XD
3. I have a LOT of questions about textures AND color.

After looking for hours now. I believe this outfit is:

1. ALMOST Black (Darkest Brown)
2. Cotton Blend
3. NON-Textured
4. NON-Shiny
5. Soft Weave

-It appears to be a non lined (or thin lined) outer tunic style Nightgown with shoulder tucks in a Black Cotton weave.
-The Sleeve holes are not small like an inner tunic, they are rather wide and open like an outer tunic
-Black pants

Ill take any opinions or opposing statements

Click the images to make them larger

I have though about it i must admit since my wife have the dress to match Smile
My thoughts on this is quite simple and these are with take into account the things you have listed dawn Wink

yes is looks black, but nothing on the costume is black except the spandex, so in that logic I would assume it to be his regular tunic. if that is the case I don't think it would have a special sleeve as it is a jedi tunic. it has shoulder tucks and all.

1. Black - (Not sure about that it could be the lighting)
2. Cotton Blend - sure as most of the tunics were
3. NON-Textured - correct
4. NON-Shiny - yeah
5. Soft Weave - yup

in that logic, perhaps a nighty jedi tunic ?

I 100% agree with you and I am so glad you have come here to weigh in your opinion.

He wears 2 tunics (obviously haha)

I originally thought that this costume was his inner tunic. Then I saw the shoulder tucks and sleeves. Which lead me to believe it was his outer tunic. But it can't be as Anis tunic is Krinkle gauze.
Is it possible that they made this especially for this scene?

I posted the back image (of his back) to show how thin it looks. It looks unlike any jedi tunic because it appears so thin.

If you were going to make this would you do it in deep dark brown?

Last night I wentout and I scored 5yards of Deep (and I mean DEEP brown that's darn near black) I went to go sew the costume then took a second look and decided to post this here.
Im almost just willing to go out on a limb, sew it in dark brown, submit it and see what is said. Cause I can dye it darker but if I go black in the first place its not going to be dyed brown after :p

knowing Ani, yes I would keep it dark brown, and make the pants out of the same fabric as they seem to match.

The nightgown set is darn near black, but I feel like I could still even go darker with this, its SUPER bright out (yay california) I think i should test in doors

Is this the Male Version of a Slave Leia?

I am beginning to think so x.x
