Hello there! ♥
I'm currently trying to make a Leia costume and I have some questions about the types of fabric to use. The version I've chosen is the Marvel Miniseries Jumpsuit.
I know those types of versions can be quite tricky to approach because the lack of realistic references, but I'll try.
The fabric of the white jumpsuit itself should be similar to the Arena Battle leggins and turtleneck Padmé wears.

What kind of fabric do you recommend?
I have also some questions about the vest and the gloves. Te guide states that the vest should be of a matte medium-weight material, roughly the same color as the gloves. While the gloves should be made of leather of leather like material. Since the color of the two pieces should match, I am thinking about using the same material. What kind of material would you suggest?
Thank you in advance

I'm excited to see someone else work on this costume!
If it helps your research, I've uploaded my scans of the three different versions here:

http://www.senate.rebellegion.com/leia-organa-marvel-comics-vest-jumpsuit/

I also recently read the main Marvel comics, and a version of this costume shows up twice there too. I plan to clean up my scans of those comics and upload them relatively soon too.
For the jumpsuit, you probably want a fairly heavy knit fabric (that isn't see-through), possibly with a bit of spandex in it. I've been looking at some "high performance" knits for a bodysuit I am planning to make soon for a different costume. Something like that might work.
For the gloves and vest, you could use regular leather (like a doe skin or something similar) but that is often difficult to work with. You could also try a matte vinyl material (though you'd have to line it with something matching so the underside doesn't show), or suede. _________________

I'd say suede or a thin leather type. Doe, pig, or lamb could all work. Real leather acts a bit different from faux ones, so I'd recommend extra length around your pieces and then trimming after sewing. Thin leathers are easy to sew on a machine, but if you have curves then be aware that things may shift slightly. And of course, you can't use needles to hold things together.
Faux leathers/suede are also very much an option though. Just know they won't last as long and will eventually flake. (So using them depends on how long you expect/want a costume to last and how you feel about remaking parts of it. We are talking years here).
Best of luck with your project. _________________

Hi! This is one of my favorite costumes! I'm doing the cloaked version for approval. I'm still fine-tuning some of the details before submitting but you can find my build thread here: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=89025
I used a poly-spandex knit for my jumpsuit, and I'm really happy with it! It was already fairly opaque, but I ended up doubling it up so there were two layers of fabric just for good measure. I really liked how that turned out as it looks less like superhero spandex and more substantial, realistic, and Star Warsy imho _________________ "Stay afraid, but do it anyway." - Carrie Fisher

I love this costume too
My fabric is very soft and snug, so yes i think that is similar to the Arena Battle leggins and turtleneck Padmé wears. Yes my vest has the same color of the gloves.
I used ecopelle
let me know if you need something _________________ ----
