Looks pretty good in my opinion. The sleeves could be a little longer, but as long as they cover your wrist you should be fine.

I tried to get them longer, but I cut too much from the neck, and those are the raw edges of the fabric so far. They still cover my wrist though.

Thank you ladies.

I bought the last materials for my costume yesterday:

*A 5-inch upholstery vinyl strip for the belt (looks like leather but it's soft on the other side.

*button snaps.

*craft aluminium sheets for the plates.

And finally, a sewing machine that is simple to use, because I have to learn to use one again. I also got a lot of brown linen to do Sandstorm Leia.

Updates soon.

I'm not sure why, but Tinypic always uploads my pictures sideways, and these ones are monster size.

I spent most of my day putting it together while I tried to understand that mysterious artifact called "cheap sewing machine". Here's the progress so far (don't mind the mess, it was a crazy day):

Looks really good Angie! All you need is the belt!

Thanks Dianne! Sadly, I ruined the belt when I was cutting it so I have to buy more now. It'll be finished tonight.

That looks great! Your fabric hangs beautifully. Do you have the side slits in there? It's a bit hard to see from the photos.

I can't wait to see it all together with your belt.

Yes Jenna! It has the side slits! That was yesterday. I hemmed the sleeves and started the belt. Here's the latest picture:

Thanks Beth!

So I finished the belt, which was a PAIN to make and get right. I ruined some white upholstery leather and had to buy more. Next will be fixing the buns and get the pictures soon.

That looks fantastic! Great work for your first jump into sewing and making belts and all of that! All that is left is the boots, right?

Yup. I have a pair of white boots, but they have a heel and I don't think they'll fit the standard, even though the boots are barely visible with the dress.

But overall, I'm proud of the dress. Like you said, it's my first jump on making everything myself. I'm happy.
