This is my Voort SaBinring journey. I've been a Gamorrean with the 501st since about 2011. I've been looking for something new and this was an easy transition. I don't make the Gamorrean heads. They are made in the UK. I'd be happy to pass down the information if anyone is interested. He usually sells them painted and padded, ready to wear. I requested it unfinished so I could paint it the color I wanted.

Unfortunately, the Gamorrean helmet is part of the latex mold. This will need to be trimmed somewhat. Don't cut too much or you'll be stuck with a floppy skin and no way to support it. I cut out portions slowly.

Helmet is not accurate size wise. The heads are too big. I did what I could to minimize the adjustments and went with a gradual width increase. Got the helmet from DW Designs. I ordered the orange visor from Darthhair and it should be here today.

Originally, I was going to line up the helmet with the horns. A friend suggested to cut them from the mask and mount them to the helmet. So I did.

1st Layer of paint is the fleshtone that shows on the mouth/nose area as well as the lower cheeks. The latex masks can be painted by using acrylic craft paints mixed with Liquitex matte medium or just mix it with latex. I have a latex base (thinned) I use with the airbrush.

You can see in this picture how much of the latex helmet was removed.

Straight paint, no weathering or contrast.

Matte sealer on the skin, but gloss sealer on the mouth/nose. Piggys are messy.

Mock up. The lens is being swapped out for the orange.

$36 fat suit. I had to mod it slightly for a better fit.

Helmet painting. Airbrush and acrylic washes. Nothing fancy.

I was told the little box under his neck translates pig grunts to words.

My templates to finish the helmet. 1/4" x wings. Didn't know those cutters could something that small with detail.

That's it for now. The mask/helmet will be mounted together after I get the lens mounted. It's time to measure for the flight suit and get measurements to the boot guy. Those boots are going to be huge! I've already had an offer to buy this suit when it's done. Might be too cool to sell.

Not much of an update, but I got my visor installed and glued the mask and helmet together as 1 piece. It's going to be awhile before I update again. I'm waiting for the flight suit, vest and gloves to be done. Can't move on with boots or other things till I'm sure how everything will fit.

Woo-hoo, we've a Piggy in the Hanger.

Just for the record, there was one in the Legion a loooong time ago, but it was nowhere near as cool as this. Keep it up! (and bring it to CVII - I need a pic with it!) Cool

I am so super excited to see someone tackle this costume. I will watch this thread with great interest. One thing though, this source image is incorrect as Wraith Squadron flightsuits are not orange, they're dark green IIRC.
