Hi!

I'm starting a ceremonial Leia as my first costume. My very cool mother is working on the dress, and I'll be starting a WIP thread soon with pics.

In the meantime, I'm wondering about the necklace, bracelet and belt. I've found a few options on line and was wondering if anyone had any experience/feedback on if they are approvable.

Necklace:

Bracelet:

Belt:

And if any of you wise people have any other vendors or suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks so much!

I don't have a Ceremonial Leia, but these look pretty accurate to me.

The necklace and the bracelet look great. I personally prefer belts that have a more pointed V both on the top and bottom, as a judge, but I am not certain that is a deny-worthy point.

How would the other judges weight in on that one?

Also, the Ceremonial Leia belt is silver if I'm correct.

Yes, the belt comes in silver or white. And she provides an eighth plate for covering the clasp in the back, which gives you the eight plates needed for standards.

Thanks so much for your input, both of you! I will do some more digging to see if I can find other belt sources.

Kay Dee has a shop on Etsy, Sew Corellian. She makes the belts.

I'm in agreement. I would prefer a more pointed belt as well, but am not certain it would be a denial. I think as long as the rest of the costume was correct, the belt would be ok, but one with a more noticeable point would be preferred.

I've been digging but haven't found any other sources, and I don't know if I trust my skill working with leather! I will contact the vendor and ask about having one made with more point.

I found my belt on eBay years ago with a more pointed point, but I don't know if that seller is still around. And I'm afraid I can't remember the sellers' name either. Neutral

I got it in white and painted it silver myself, but it was a lot of work and I should just have asked for a silver colored version from the beginning instead. The things we learn as we go. Rolling Eyes

I would be careful to trust any shop's claims of approvability without asking a judge first. Some stores that do are not in fact approvable. However, I know that we have approved a number of Sew Correllian's belts recently (that's our Jedi-DWH not Kay Dee).
