Chattanooga: Star Wars Reads Day 2014

On October 11, 2014, members of the 501st, Chattooine, Dark Empire, Mando Mercs, R2 Builders, and Rebel Legion attended events at the Annual Chattanooga Reads Day events at the Chattanooga Hamilton County Bicentennial Library and Barns and Noble to help promote the event. In addition the troop was an event to help raise money for the Chattanooga Urban League. The event kicked off at the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Bicentennial Library at 1PM where Star Wars costumers help pose for photos and even assisted in the work stations at the events. These events were constructing robotic hands, crafting your own light saber, and making Yoda Ears. In addition they served as a drink Yoda Soda, which was awesome. At 3:30PM we headed to the second location, which was the Barns and Noble in Hamilton Place Mall. This venue was just as awesome as the other location. The event was awesome for Master Yoda was reading to the younglings, which they seemed to enjoy. Both event locations were awesome. In fact what made it better is that we assisted the Urban League of Chattanooga, which we the groups raised a little over $500.00.
