I think your message got cut off. What was your question, specifically?

Oh, shoot, it did! Basically, I wanted to ask where I can find a good Leia belt. I can't make one as my skill level is not anywhere near what's needed to make a belt. Does anyone here know where I can get a belt that will be approved? I don't want to spend money on something that is not approvable.

There's a few on eBay, but I'm weary of them because the best-looking ones are expensive and I'd like to make sure everything is perfect before purchasing anything.

Or if anyone here makes them, that's even better! Any help is appreciated. Smile

Etsy is also another good place to look. I can't endorse any one vendor, as a judge, but if you are uncertain, post a link here and we'll let you know. The things that people often get hung up on in the approval process are:

1) that the metal plates are not proportional to the belt
2) the belt is made out of something soft and wrinkly
3) the top edge of the belt is straight across without any kind of dip or v
4) the bottom edge of the belt has a rounded V rather than sharp point
5) the v-shape of the belt comes abruptly in the front, while it was straight across around the waist. something like -v- when we are actually looking for a more gradual V.

Those are the main things to avoid. But, if you have any questions about a specific belt, just ask!

As of right now, there are none on Etsy that would be suitable for a Legion-approved costume. They're all made out of shiny fabrics and the one that pops up on there occasionally is suede with plates that are too big (and that's the one I have now).

Do you think this one would work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-Made-Star-Wars-ANH-Princess-Leia-White-Leather-Belt-/361204676143

My initial thought is that yes, it would work. Other judges?

To me it looks a bit weird. The proportions between the buttons and the plate sizes is wrong, and the center plate is wrong as well. And that price seems rather high to me.

I agree with Beth here. The front plate's shape is especially strange.
