Mission Report:
Impact Comics Festival is a small long running pop culture celebration run by one of the local comic book stores.
The official troop started at 11am but my SCG mates were there nice and early to set up the small marque tent (with sectioned off changing area) and display table supplied by Impact.
Most of the day was spent interacting with the public, answering questions about what we do (including the usual 'No we don't sell costumes") and lots of small walks around the public plaza where the event was held posing for lots of photos.
The owners of The Green Shed Cafe and second hand shop invited us in to have a look at their new set up and much fun was had by all playing in the shop and trying on some of the quality recycled wares.
Impact Comics were also raising funds for our currently nominated charity The Black Dog Institute, shaking buckets around the square and taking donations. Our antics at The Green Shed drew quite a crowd and the owners were so happy/pleased they made a $200 donation on the spot which we were delighted by and happy to have facilitated.
A smattering of photos from the day.
