This is the kind of event many of you have asked for.
North Metro Community Services Monthly Social
Event Description (please include special character requests)
North Metro Community Services is a non-profit organization who serves a wide range of adults who have developmental disabilities. At the end of every month for our day program services there is a social event with a chosen theme where the individuals get together in an atrium where there is a DJ, dancing, snacks and non alcoholic drinks provided. The theme for the social this month was chosen yesterday as Star Wars, and both staff and our individuals would greatly appreciate a guest appearance of some of their favorite Star Wars characters that they could meet and take pictures with. This would be a rare and exciting opportunity for our individuals, who would more than likely never be able to experience this outside of our day program. We would be very excited to see you here, thank you for your time!

I will check my schedule since it is a Thursday during the day but I am 90% sure I can make this one. Sounds like a great cause. |

I might be able to sneak this one in while my boys are at school. I'd have to bring Kahri though. _________________ Overkill is underrated. |

I can do this one, if I could leave a little early, like around 2:00. I need to pick up my boys from school in east Denver. Let me know if that is all right -- but I understand if it does not work. |

More information
Hello, Patrick!
Family or support members are welcome to join as handlers for the Troops; so long as there is a final count of personnel coming to the event for security purposes and everyone signs in at the front desk as a visitor.
This event will be held indoors in a large open atrium, there are many smaller and private rooms that we can designate for changing into costumes. The event officially starts at 1pm and ends at 2pm, but you will want to be ready in costume about 15 minutes before and after.
This event will not be advertised publicly.
There are no skits or scenes that you would need to perform. You will probably be asked to take photographs with some of our individuals and staff, and there is a possibility (if the costumes allow) that you may be invited to dance with some of our individuals that we serve.
Replica star wars weapons that you mentioned are welcome!
As far as a cut off date, it would be easiest to know by late Sunday, January 24th who will be coming to the event (or, how many Troops and how many handlers will be appearing).
I have contacted the 501st Legion as well and have not yet heard back from them, however the participation of either of your sister organizations in our event would be fantastic and greatly appreciated! Considering the space that we have to hold the event (not including handlers) it would be best to not exceed 10 characters total (the most optimal situation if you can manage it would be: 1 droid, 4 or 5 from the Rebel Legion [if possible for 2 to be Jedi], and 4 or 5 from the 501st Legion [if we could get at least 1 sith lord, possibly a Darth Vader that would also be great]).
Thank you so much for your response, please let me know if you have any more questions! I look forward to hearing from you again soon.

The site was concerned about children so I will count you out.
I am going to cap this for now to leave space for the 501st.
If you are on the list an d can't make please let me know by Saturday
Thanks. |
