I think it's from TFA visual dictionary. I got it from Amazon for $12. That ring shouldn't be too hard to do: two teardrop shaped Lapis lazuli stones and thick brass wiring soldered to a brass ring.
I was a bit disappointed with the images from Kylo Ren in that book. Great shot of his boots, but told me nothing about a dang midcoat that's vexing the majority of Kylo costume builders. _________________ One mean, green-eyed fitch. |

Yes, it is from the Visual Dictionary.

Okay, that comment coming from a person who (from your avatar picture) creates elaborate Padme costumes... Says. It. All.
If you find it troubling, LOL! Then you know from a newbie seamstress that I am, I'm pulling my out my hair!
From my point of view, I'm hoping that if Driver's character bites a big Jedi blade, that he flies through the air butt first so I can look up his layers.

It's totally off topic, but: Thanks for the laugh!
And I agree that the ring doesn't look too hard to do. Just a matter of getting proper references. _________________

Thanks for the laugh, silvermitt!
I'm just sad there were no images of this blue dress in the Visual Dictionary. It's quite lovely. _________________

I'll keep my eyes open for any new images of the blue dress.
I'll bet they make a book for the new trilogy, but sadly, you'll have to wait a long time before that get mass marketed. _________________ One mean, green-eyed fitch. |

Yeah. A new costume book for this trilogy won't be out until some time after that last movie is released. Hopefully a lot more info will come out in the meantime. _________________

I'll definitely have the earrings, or rather, "ear-grabbers" (because I don't think they're either pinned through a hole with a pin nor are they clips - they just happen to "grab" from the inner to the outer ear) 3D printed at Shapeways. I'll probably do the same for the ring, just have to settle on a Lapis Lazuli size.
As for the dress, the underdress drives me mad. It looks like the wrong side of silk charmeuse; just thicker than usual silk charmeuse. It could also be some thicker (read: heavier in terms of Momme) crepe de chine. The one problem I have with that identification is the fact that it says "slub silk" on the exhibit description. So it's either some kind of Ahimsa (peace-) charmeuse or crepe de chine, or the exhibit description is wrong.
I think the reverse side of this fabric might work rather well.
At any rate, I already have a linen-rayon bouclé fabric that will work for the overdress.
So yeah.. count me in for a blue Leia dress. Finally something that is "age appropriate" for me, lol. _________________ ~*~ Love of my life: Creating costumes! ~*~

Good luck, Naergi. We still know so little about this costume, but we keep looking! (and sharing). _________________

Thank you! The underdressed looks so much shinier in these, and you can see a seam down the front. You can also see how the weave of the overdressed angles at the top...I think it is going to turn out to be one single piece of fabric. |

Too bad the colors are washed out in these, but at least you can clearly see the finishing hems on the dresses and sleeves.
And the underdress is described as a slubby silk fabric. _________________

I found 8 yards of this linen at discount yesterday in my local shop and I'm wondering if these would do for the inner dress or outer dress or both. I'm making this for my sister or Mom if she wants to wear it for any cosplay activity I invite in.
