it might work for the outer dress. I feel that the inner dress is something more flowy than linen. _________________ :::Dagobah Base CO:::: |

I'm not sure it would have the right look, but if it's not expensive you could always try it out as a test run. _________________

So I just wanted to pop in and post here, I've started making the Leia rings from TFA, and either this week or next week, I'm going to try to start making her earrings for this dress as well. I'm actually offering these for sale, I'll be posting a sale thread later on tonight, I'm finishing up on a few orders tomorrow. These are sealed brass (meaning they won't turn your finger green, but they are metal), and I'm offering both a dyed howlite and a semiprecious lapis lazuli version.
This is my own personal ring:
These are a couple of unfinished orders, the stones haven't been set and they're lacking the brushed finish:
This is one of those orders, still no set stone, but with the brushed finish:
EDIT: Hmmm, the images don't seem to be working, let me get that worked out lol... _________________ [img:5d610fae04]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/Orviewan/AoI%20Sigs/SigRABarbie.jpg[/img:5d610fae04] |

I found out that the inner dress was silky as well thanks to some photos at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood! Good thing I didn't cut those linen yards yet as I'm busy with a Belle! _________________

This has been a great thread. My mom just went with me trooping and she wants to join in on the fun We are looking at this dress for her. Has anyone been approval yet on this dress? Just want to make sure before we start working on it, that there is enough info that as long as we do it "right" it can be approved. |

We haven't had anyone through the approval process yet, but that does not mean you cannot send in an application. Just make sure you include your references when doing so. _________________

So where can I buy one of these lovely rings? Went to your facebook page and did not see it. Thanks! |

One other question, the fabric for her outer dress seems to be the hardest part, is there a way I can get from the judges if the fabric we end up buying will work before we make the whole outfit in it. |

We can't give you an official promise that your fabric will be approved or not (that's an official judging policy), especially since it's hard to tell details and drape online, but we can give you feedback on your choice if you upload photos here. _________________

The guess is it's some kind of rough woven silk, but we are not sure what exactly. But as Jenna said we can only offer feedback and guidance, not make promises. _________________

Hello, i'm new.
I am starting on a new project : this leia blue gown.
I have a question : I found this video of the dress on an action figure :
https://youtu.be/-HYXFZHVQCg
but at 3:30, we can see the dress is not "full". The inner part is more like an "apron". (do I make sense?).
Do you think that's cannon? Should I work on a "dress", like, normal, or should I cut it to match the action figure?
What version will be approved by the judges?
What do you think?
Many thanks,
Cheers |

I don't know if this is any help, but I'm in the midst of styling a wig and found this tutorial for Leia's hairstyle that she wears in the movie. Making this dress for my mother.

It will be judged according to the movie. Action figures are seldom the best references, but they can serve as additional references. Also keep in mind the practical considerations when making a costume. _________________
