Hi Rocky, or (any member of Sunrider base)

The vest looks great, what material did you use to connect the clasp to the vest? I used a mesh, but yours looks more true to the source images.

Thanks

If I understand your question correctly, the vest uses white mesh almost meeting in mid, and the back of the square flat piece has Velcro that connect the two mesh pieces in the middle, and the large com box is velcrod to the top of the square flat piece. As I see closer in some pics the com box may actually have a clip that is actually clipping to the center of the flight suit like how you would clip a pen to a pocket protector.

I'm curious about this too....

If you look at the full sized Poe standee, it appears the clip / closure thing (under the chestbox) is connected to the vest by white perforated leather, rather than mesh. But that may be my misinterpretation or bad eyesight. Razz

I'll see if I can get a pic this evening and post it.

Pics from the Poe Dameron standee:

Does the attachment between the clasp / clip thing and the body of the vest look like mesh or perforated leather or ???

First off: Excellent job, Rocky and Hazzard Squadron!!

Second, the box is indeed clipped onto the suit. Not sure if this was posted elsewhere amongst these threads, but here's a good shot of Poe's box (sounds kinky):

So we are using a belt clip fastened to the back of the box, with rare-earth magnets on the lower half of the box to help keep it from flopping around. The clip slips into a loop sewn to the front of the zipper placket on the suit, about 2" below the collar and roughly in-line with the yoke stitch... like this:

Ohhhh... a loop. That makes perfect sense.

Every time I have looked at this flight suit photo, I've seen the bottom shadow, but not the top. It looked like a fold.... a downward fold, and that made no sense to me at all, other than something decorative.

Thanks to your two photos, this configuration is starting to make a lot of sense. Very Happy

[BTW, when I was referring to clip/clasp, I meant the (faux) closure thing on the front of the flak vest that appears to be attached to perforated leather.]

One more nit-picky question... what did you use inside the neck for the four little square closure things? Snaps, magnets? Haven't been able to get a large enough image.
