|
|
|
Where is everyone getting the flat silver metal slides for their leg straps? I can't seem to find any that match the TFA references. Strapworks has flat ones but they're in an "8" shape, and the squared ones aren't flat. Locally I'm just finding the same thing. Where have people been finding the flat squarish slides? _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley

Nah, I was referring to the buckles on the straps around the legs, not the belt and ejection harness. The 1" webbing around the legs. _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley

I am in need of more too. I had a bag of spot-on slides from old East German army hardware, but they are all gone now, after making over 20 suits.
I found these:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/249485530/1-inch-slide-metal-buckle-strap-adjuster
Sold in pairs, $1 each. I might have to bite it and get these. I'd get silver, and then bathe them in muratic acid to take off the shiny finish. _________________ Generic Clone Wars-era Jedi

Those Etsy ones look pretty good. I might just go for those. Thanks for linking them.
The ones on Ebay are definitely cheaper but, yeesh, I'd rather not have to wait two or three months to receive them.
Edit: Just noticed that the Etsy ones are from China with a 2-3 week delivery time. Bah. Why do all of these come from China? x.x _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley

For anyone stumbling back on this thread: Don't buy the ebay link. It looks nothing like the picture. It had sharp corners, beveled corners, and was clearly stamped metal. Ended up getting a refund and repainting some plastic slides instead _________________ Jian-Ming Chang

It's this one. I mean, you still do get sliding buckles, but be aware that they will look like these.
