Very nice. I was thinking of trying the same thing, but maybe a thin layer of batting over the foam would smooth it out a bit. I've also used an under-layer of fabric under the final layer on a creature costume.

Does the fabric you use have a lot of stretch in it? What kind of paint did you use?

thank you ! Smile

I have already complete this costume but I need to make some upgrades though.

to @Ardavenport :
My fabric is very stretch to any direction, it's thick enough to put one layer I think, because the paint on make it stronger to the sewn parts
I used a mix acrylic paints and wood glue.

This is the pattern I drawn for the headpiece/ Montrals

headpiece with fabric unpainted

photo took with flash, you can see my fabric is shiny as skin

test wearing the montrals before some adjustments to fit properly on my head

Work in progress on the costume : chest armor and dress

shape base for the lightsabers hilts and hand and arms guards armor parts

Thank you very much ! =)

After making armor parts with foam and worbla, I primed it and go to test and paint job
Oh and I added leds !

my costume is almost done (for the dress I used wool fabric and lycra)
the same fabrics for the gloves/ arms
for the belt I used leather and synthetic leather and a wooden ring and metallic nails

This weekend I made cover boots
I used old small boots as base and mad it with foam (no worbla there)

before weather effectivement

after weather effect :

For the lightsabres I made my own hilts

The blades are polycarbonate tubes in white

Makeup test:

I mix several makeup creams : fondation, brown and orange.

It's looking good, but your lines on the head piece appears black or almost black in all your images? It's important you get well light photos taken when you are done so the colors are properly represented. (The dress also appears black instead of grey).

Good luck with the rest of it. Smile

thank you !
my fabric for the dress is grey (dark grey)
I took pictures in the sunlight :

Also I repainted my montrals / lekkus
my color for the lines / strips was too dark (it was in fact dark blue) so I painted a new blue tone on it

I used indepent leds (with small batteries on each) and my light system for the lightsabers is a makeshift solution (small light torch ! XD)
I want to buy electronics and make my own system soon.[/img]

if I can give you some advice, I think the color of the under belt is not good ...it should be a light gray...now they looks like the same color of pieces of armor, for example, I've used light gray leather with suede effect, it's very beautiful! Also the stripes on the shoes should stop at the middle of the shoe, not at the end of it! ^-^

Hi) Well, it looks good, but from my point of view your pants should be darker than your dress color. And I can't see the dark brown strip at your boots.

Look forward to your progress!!
