Folks, I am the Director here at the museum and we are having our first Star Wars Day at the museum. We may also have a special dinner that evening but not confirmed yet. We would love to have as many troopers down as possible. Star Garrison already has posted and I checked and have the ok to post here. The museum can offer up a couple of hotel rooms for crash space. “We want to have a Star Wars Day at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. It will promote the museum and our Non-Profit friends group as well as focus on all things space. I am the Executive Director here as well as a 501st Member (DZ-10073)
We could possibly provide one or two hotel rooms for people coming down to Corpus Christi for Saturday night. We may do a special second event that evening that is a Dinner, would run from say 6-8pm and a premium separate from regular day.
Again characters and families in free.

EDIT: From A. Darling: Also, we have a spare bedroom if anyone is needing a place to stay from out of town”

Just confirming this. We are a go. Room for a recruitment table. And. Will to spring for a couple of hotel rooms at emerald beach resort on the beach here. Will have to share but can get rooms. Love to have whoever

Going to bump this. We have about 6 from Star Garrisson signed up, Mandos are also on board. Need some Rebels. I am probably going to do Plo Koon for part of this but any rebels that can make it come on down. If you need a hotel we can possibly arrange and cover with notice for Sat, night. Just an update and some logistics.

we have done a teaser on the museums facebook page, just a death star and the words coming may 20 for one day, more details to come.
We have had over 2400 hits on the post in less than 24 hours and it has been shared over 40 times just from our page, no idea on others who shared. In addition this one teaser post has people calling asking what is up and can they buy early tickets. So could be grea

Logistics update, we can still get 1-2 hotel rooms if need be for folks coming down. All family gets in the museum for free the day off.

We will troop 11-3 and do 3-330 group pics

We will have the death star hallway backdrop up, han in carbonite and the action figure box. Who knows what else if Arron and John have their way.

May be announcing couple of other surpises.

Evening event is a go. We will be celebrating the 40th Anniversary of SW ANH

530-7 will be meet and greet with the troopers who can stay for this later event. It will be a premium of only 150. Local establishment providing food. Local toy store providing door prizes, probably a silent auction (So if you want to donate anything)

Capped off by a screening of ANH at 7pm (yes we have all of our license to show movies so good to go there)

We will have a limited edition T shirt for the event and the 150 who attend the evening event get a one of patch (yes patches so if you troop you get one) I will post up designs as we get them.

As I run the museum, we will be setting scenes up Friday evening, so you can come down and leave you gear at the museum overnight. We will have a large auditorium classroom that will be a secure non public changing space. And we will feed you lunch and provide beverages(non alcoholic )

ok we have gone public and are advertising this event on our facebook page and email list. Daytime event during regular hours. VIP event with giveaways prizes food etc limited to 150 sold tickets and 200 total.

Since yesterday at noon our FB post has had 70,000 hits, 660 shares, 275 likes. We have received over 300 phone calls and sold 40 of the 150 seats. In less than 24 hours.

We have a good contingent of the empire coming, we would love some of the good guys. Contact me if you can make it

one week away, would love some jedi love here if anybody can make it. I will probably be Plo Koon. We have 100,000 plus hits and local media contacting us. the evening protion is almost sold out and we haven't really plugged it. Day of we are estimating 3000 plus come on down
