Mmm,
A couple of thing you may need to check,

- your bucket sits very high on your head, the front should touch the visor of the soft cap, and the helmet should sit straight, yours is tilted backwards
Try to get it straight first, if that doesn't make it look lower, carefully make the holes bigger so it sits more around your forehead

- loose the buttons on the jacket, there are no buttons on the jacket
- Put a piece of parachute cord though a tunnel at the bottom of the jacket so you can blouse it

- make sure the boots, gloves and chaps over the boots are dirty... They are way to clean. Go gardening with the gloves, rub earth in them, use tea and sand to dirty bots and the chaps

- On the camu color it looks like you started with a kaki base and just added
A green,
I'd expected more collorsl like a brown and yellowish/ sand color.
It may be the pictures, so if they are multiple color make sure the pictures show them

If I have time I'll see if I can find proper reference photo's for ya,

Keep it up you have a good start

What Doc said.

Attaching the visor directly to the donut helps this. I attached mine with hot glue. It allows you to get the donut farther down your head in the front so its nice and level.

Also, is it just me or does the soft cap look like it is on backward?

You could use some more shades of green on your pants and jacket. The 5 recommended colors are moss green, basil, holiday green, hunter green and olive bright. They can be found on www.createforless.com. Follow the camo painting tutorial in the sticky thread on the ROTJ boards. Remember to not go overboard with the paint and make them solid green.

The jacket needs to be hemmed a few inches. Use reference photos to see how much to hem. Lose the buttons.

Weathering is up to you. I'd strongly recommend adding either real dirt or watered down paint for a weathering effect on the boots and gaiters but others prefer to remain clean. Personally, I used watered down paint on my boots and gaiters and olive oil/real dirt on the gloves.

Here's a front shot of my costume with the configuration your going for:

Overall its a great start!!! Keep up the good work. Endor needs more troopers!

It looks to me like you have the soft cap the wrong way. It looks like a home made replica, and the visor got sewn onto the back / bottom side of it that is supposed to wrap around the back of your neck. The leather strips with the snap rivets should be vertical (up and down) in front of the ear caps. Not horizontal under them.

As mentioned, attach the visor to the Donut, and adjust the donut so it sits relatively level.

Yep, looking at it again your cap is the wrong way,
It explains why it looked odd on you head in combination with the helmet,
Fix that first, then follow the advice on the visor as that should help

Post a pic just with your head and helmet we can then see if it need to be lower

- Found an other issue on your bandoleer, you have the square black radio device at the bottom, that should be on the shoulder

The picture of Jim highlights most points, the fit of the helmet and visor, colors of the camu paint, dirt, and in his case the square silver radio device with the red and green button on his shoulder
Your getting there, just the small details to get it right

Keep up the good work

Couple of small tips, the other folks hit the main areas:

Your bandoleer greeblies are too bright and clean. See the commentary in this thread, along with a great image of how it should look when you are done weathering:

http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=76373&highlight=

The other is to take cardboard, or foam, and fill in your pouches. They should look full. It's icing on the cake, and won't stop you from getting approved, but both of these tweaks will give you that "real world / used universe" look that makes the costume look like a real-world used piece of kit.

Good build so far. You are close. A few days of tweaks and improvements, and you can get it approved. Cool

What is the best way to weather the greeblies?

Drybrushing silver for wear and a thinned dark grey or black wash works well.

I'm addition to paint weathering I like natural weathering with thin mud ground in and wiped off on the lower part of the whole assembly

Your donut helmet is still rocked back way too far.
You may have cut out the holes too big.

It needs to sit relatively level on your head like this if you can:

And should not look rocked back any more than this at the most:

I'll let others chime in on the rest of the costume.

It may be the pictures, but it almost looks like you out fit is green,
I can hardly see any camouflage scheme details,

unlike the one from Jim where you clearly can see the various colors pattern,
there should a lot of light brown visible, as the idea was that they used default khaki or brown uniforms and had then made them ready for jungle warfare by adding other colors

Make sure the radio greeblee (the square one with buttons) sits close to your shoulder also try to reduce the reddinish of the grenade greebleis...
on way to do that is get an old tooth brush and get some black or gray paint on it and rub it on a piece of paper until the brush hardly gives of color and then rub it over.. that ways you should get a more well used look to them.

the idea is that these where old experienced soldiers that been around the block a few times...

but.. you are getting closer and closer almost there i'd say
