I will second that the hair is twisted too tightly. A looser twist will make the buns lay flatter on your head as well.

Practice it a bit. Smile Try getting it a tad looser and get it to lie flat. I think you have the necessary volume of hair, you just need to practice getting it twisted right. (And yes, this does take practice if you're not used to it).

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I will keep on trying!
I've got another question... I was wondering if I could use a wig instead of my real hair because I would like to dye my natural color in red. I have got a wig that I could use and work on, practice Leia's hair style, but I'm not sure if the colour is okay. As you can see in the picture, it's a brown natural hair colour, but it is not as dark as Leia's, maybe. Can another type of brown can be used or it has to be a dark brownish colour?

Lighter brown can be used, though we recommend going with a darker brown.

Okay, thank you! I will try to dye my wig and make it darker Smile
In addition, I wanted to ask as well if this method to style a non-parted wig is fine for Leia's hairstyle?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHPwYlWAWhM&t=4s

I'm concern that the standards say that "if a non-parted wig is used, the hair must be neatly pulled across the back of the wig without bald spots"

That should work, but it would depend on how the wig is made. It may be easier to achieve the right look with some wigs than others. And of course, if your own hair matches or is close then it will also help.
Only problem regarding the video is that it hangs so much in back where it would need to be pulled tighter and upwards on each side.

Hello, everyone!

I know it's been a while since I posted something here, but as I said months ago, I have been very ill, several times in hospital, and personal things in my life have gone much worst. However, I'm a bit okay right know and I've decided to re-do the gown because it didn't convince me very much in the past. So here is a little WIP of the costume so far. It's not finished as you can see, but I think the fabric I've chosen it's better. Any feedback for advice, please?

Thank you so much for your time, ladys. I hope life has been kind with all of you!

I'm glad you're feeling well enough to share some progress again. I hope you're fully recovered soon.

I think what you have so far looks great. You've got a lot of gathering and potential for blousing at the waist.

The fabric seems to fall in much the same way as the ESB gown. Smile Jetset poly? Or another knit?
It looks super funny with the long sleeves, but it's good to see you're starting long instead of risking going too short. Wink

Hello there, wonderful creatures of the galaxy! I know it's been a while since my last post, I'm so sorry. I've been having healthy issues for a long time so I was forced to put the project on hiatus. However, I'm getting there little by little. You know, as always!

So, let's get down to business now. I wanted to share with you all how the gown is progressing and here are some pics, which I hope you like:

Thank you so much for your time and feedback, ladies!

It's looking great! Do you have a keyhole opening in the back? I can't tell if it's there with all of the lovely hood draping.

Yep, it's there Leia Buns
And I don't know if it's appreciable, but I may say just in case that the gown also slits up on the sides just below the knee (as it's required)

Hello! A few weeks ago I submitted my application for this costume and I've just got an approval this morning! So thank you everyone for your feedback. I can't wait to troop with my new RL mates!

However, I've got a question: I would like to edit the character profile of my costume. I tried to add a complete description of if, but when I submit the changes, nothing happens. The info does not update. Is there a reason for this? Is there anything I can do?

Thank you so much for your time and feedback!

Congrats on your approval! You look lovely.
You can email your judge and ask them to edit the photo or you can email the LMO. From my understanding, they are the only ones who can do the photo change.
