It seems allot of the images have disappeared. I am hunting for reference for my vest, so if anyone has progress images, it would be awesome!

Then I can start seeing where I am going wrong Smile

I've got you covered man.

Don't make the same mistake as me and make it the wrong size - the tutorial states at the very beginning it's for L/XL size and I neglected to read that... I've been taking the vest in ever since!!

I've also got patterns that I drew up based on Philonius' images, and I'll share them with his permission.

Best of luck to you.

Sorry kids, been really busy sewing.... Well, vests Smile and suits.

I've needed to update things a bit on the tutorial, do the rest of it, and now dig out and transfer my photos (or do better ones) to Imgur. THANKS, PHOTOBUCKET. Not.
But I'll do that as soon as I can, been behind on getting orders out, and trying to catch up.

OK.....
Finally updated the picture links. I still haven't had a chance to finish the rest (constructing the underside/bottom of the vest, and putting it all together), and I have to update the pics of some of the pieces now that I've changed a couple things, made the construction even better. We all learn from experience Smile But I'll be doing those the next time I make another vest.

Thanks for the update! I finished my vest last night and am pretty happy with how it came out. I might still try to reduce the with of the Mae west pieces tonight as they're still a little large. All in all I'm pleased with the results, especially considering it was my first sewing venture. Philonius, I can't thank you enough for this tutorial. I seriously couldn't have done it without your guidance.

Not a problem. Sorry Photobucket had to go and be A-holes.

Like I said, I've refined some of my methods, so I will hopefully post updated pics & tutorial soon.

Can you share with me the pattern? Is it in pdf?

Batvader26 - Here's a link to a pattern I created. I printed mine on standard iron transfer paper. The file is already flipped so it should be correct when you iron it on.

catmew - I am more than happy to share the patterns I created but I don't want to step on Philonius' toes... Philonius, is it ok for me to share them?

Oh no, not a problem on those emblems. I can't copyright that stuff Smile

BIG UPDATE TIME:

I'm looking at this tutorial, now after a year of making a bunch of these, and improving and revamping the way I'm doing mine that I sell. I almost want to go back and turn this into a guide with the best hi-res shots of the real vests that I've collected, and a run-down of all the features, materials to use, etc. Stay tuned..... for now, I'll leave up what I posted so far, but this may change after I get caught up with last-minute TLJ orders....

Thanks for the update Philonius. What I meant though was that I have vector art of all the templates you have pictures of in your tutorial, but I don't want to share those without your permission.

Can't wait to see your updated tutorial!

Ahh, OK. Well, that's only for one general size, I now make 4 main sizes. They could all be sized down, but you'd still have to check your measurements.

Such a fun item to figure out how to make!! Confused
