Hopefully I can figure out technology... I'm going to be remaking and modifying parts of my current Rey costume to fit standards! This thread will hopefully be updated when I make improvements.
If you see anything that you'd like to give constructive criticism on it's very welcome! And yes, I know I don't look like Daisy Ridley haha

What it looks like currently. I've already made improvements from when I made my first version back when Force Awakens premiered

Constructive criticism is wanted, please! This is a new journey for me so I'd love all the tips I can get. Just for reference I'm already planning on
1) restyling my wig
2) fixing the shirt so it has the appropriate sleeves and dying it slightly darker
3) dying my tabbard and pants darker
4) remaking the pants with a better material
5) possibly 3d printing the correct staff parts (mine is so pathetic right now)
6) getting a good quality saber
7) remaking the belts and satchel (any recommendations on where to get the right leather?)

That looks like great progress, nice smile!

Tandy leather sells a 4/5 oz leather hide, which is what we used, you want one with a 50+ inch long section in the middle. Info is here:
https://emeraldb.com/2016/06/14/star-wars-rey-costume-part-5-reys-belt/

Hip bag, we used a rotcho bag and modified it, but there is also a pattern link and info on that at
https://emeraldb.com/2016/09/11/star-wars-rey-costume-part-6-reys-hip-bag/

Your diy staff looks good, i suggest getting a repro (or authentic if you can find one), enfield sling (ebay) and the accurate hardware. It would make the staff look better and you can swap it over to a 3d print one if you get it.
Very good video about how to do those parts at
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PDltmxEo7mI

....And other vids from that same user about painting and 3d print assembly.

Couple Pics of our enfield sling with correct hardware on the diy staff are at
https://emeraldb.com/2016/10/24/star-wars-rey-resistance-costume-part-4-pants/

I would consider tea or coffee dying your shirt.

Boots:
If you dont want to spring for the po zu's (they are 20% off now with code WINTERFLASH16) there are some links to adding fabric over other boots to look like the po's at:
https://emeraldb.com/2016/02/28/star-wars-rey-costume-part-3-reys-pants-boots/

I should note that our costume was NOT for RL approval, so you should double check to ensure those methods will meet what they want. If you have any other questions, feel free to pm me, i dont visit this forum much.

....also, i think RL discusses this version of rey over in "rebel supporters" so you may want to check in that section.

We do. Smile A forum moderator should be able to move the thread to the supporters forum.

(And getting the boots during the sale would be a great idea).

Got the Po-zu boots!
Sale plus coupon means they were within my price range. I plan on lightly dyeing everything with some grey Rit dye to make it more accurate with mixed tones instead of just the brown tones I have currently. Staff is being 3D printed and assembled currently. So excited! Also got a great belt that I can modify for the belts on this at the thrift shop.

So I worked on dyeing my fabrics more to be more accurate, and I think I did well! Before this I only used brown tones while dyeing but I used grey this time and I think it looks good Smile needs some work still, but it's better!
I got my Po-Zu boots and it was so worth the little extra money! So comfy!
I also got the 3d printed parts for my Rey staff and I'm currently working on the assembly for it.

Some updates on my Rey costume! Since these pictures have been taken I have also hemmed the sleeves.
Everything has been dyed again, particualrly the pants to make them the darkest. I remade the arm wraps with medical wrap to make them more accurate. My staff is currently in the process of being built, and will be finished soon when I can get around to it. New belts are made of hand dyed leather and hold a new satchel that's significantly sturdier and more screen accurate. Sorry the lighting isn't amazing in most of these Smile
