|
|
|
Greetings,
I'm looking to revamp the Poe Dameron Black Series helmet. And there are some great CRL's/How-to's on what people are doing. What i'm not seeing is who would/could make decals that would really work? I see some vendors on Etsy but afraid to know who would make a quality decal that i can scratch up and weather?
any advice/intel would be great. I just want to make sure I'm working with a quality decal maker.
Thanks,

Would be quite good to find one.
The only solution I´ve got right now it´s ordering to China, but I´m afraid they might be too thick, but since the quality won´t be the best, they should be easier to weather out. |

for mine I took a .pdf I received from a member here and took the file to a local vinyl print shop. They printed them as self adhesive vinyl decal sheet for me for $20. I cut them out by hand with a xacto knife and scissors.
They are vinyl and similar to a bumper sticker. Only thing was they had a sheen to them, but I just rubbed the surface of the sheet with a scotch brite pad to knock it down to a matte and I think it looks fine. I clear coated over it when I was done with the weathering. I did have to use a heat gun to get a few small bubbles out of them though, but I still think they were easier than water slide decals. Be sure to get them to scale to the right size when printed if you do this.

...that's of an Allen Amis helmet, but I later did another one like it from a black series. |

I always just print off my own water slide decals. They've worked great on all of my helmets and weather very easily. You just have to be careful when putting them on because they're very thin and fragile (though that does make them easy to weather and they take curves well). _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley
