Yes, you need a mold to use flex foam-iT.

I assume that because the flex foam is soft (relatively) that a hard form could be used. I was going to use what I have left of my plaster bandages for a 2 part mold, would that work?

Another question here. Is Chewbacca the only wookiee that is allowed to carry his particular bandolier or could a generic wookiee carry it as well?

Flex Foam-iT comes in a relatively rigid form. I wouldn't use an entirely rigid foam because your toes will be stepped on (a lot, trust me lol).

As far as Chewie's bandolier, I would not use it on any Wook but Chewie. A variation on the theme is fine though Smile Make it your own!

I agree with Jamie about the bandolier , maybe having a variant of it.or some time of harness. What ever you do you will still be called Chewbacca or big ape .

Yes, you can make your own. Have a look at other Wookiees and keep to that style and you'll be fine Smile

Thanks for asking Yiyo. I am doing fairly good. I have all of the hair and the mesh and the PJ pattern for making the suit. I have been building my own lifts (as I said at the beginning more time than money) I built them out of yoga blocks and they are very easy to walk in because they are grippy. I will post pics when I have more.

I will post pics of my toes as well. I "sculpted" them out of upholstery foam and coated that with dragon skin. It worked very well, they are nice and soft for when they get stepped on but the dragon skin has made them strong.

Soon I will add the toes and mesh to the lifts and then start hooking the hair. I can hardly wait.

So I have been slowly working on my wookiee but haven't posted any pictures yet. I decided to order my mask instead of making it...I am a coward but may do it latter. So now I am going to work on it steady.

I made my lift out of yoga blocks. They can be inexpensive and I have been walking around in them and they feel very stable to me. I glued the yoga blocks together with Gorilla glue (love that stuff) and then screed the shoes to the lifts. I am going to add the bar on the side for lateral support, just waiting for some nicer weather to go in the garage and drill the holes.

(I hope the picture works)

I made my toes out of upholstery foam. I used little scissors and just sculpted them to the shape I wanted. I then coated them in silicone and painted them. I made the toes out of sculpy and then glued them using a small dowel and that lovely gorilla glue.

I have just finished making the mesh suit this week end. In the lifts I will be 6'11" so with the mask I will be 7'1"ish depending on how much the mask adds to my height. The lifts are still blue and purple but will be coated in the black Gorilla tape once I have to bars screwed on. The sleeves go past the tips of my fingers on the out side and to the palms on the inside.

I will deal with the foot bump once I have hair on the legs so that I know exactly how much to do to get that smooth transition.

I have started putting hair on the feet. I am so glad to be finally at this point.

Question about hooking the hair. I know that you hook every second hole but I thought I read that you also skip every second row. I tried to find the post that said that but now I can't. I did that on part of the foot but it looks too thin. Do you do every row or skip one?

I do know that under the arms and on the shoulders you need to do every hole.
