An excellent idea for an Honorary Delegation.

I like Azure Guardians as well.

Alrighty! It sounds like we have a name: Azure Guardians.

Now the next question is if anyone that has a senate guard costume (and is therefore eligible to join the delegation) is willing to be the delegation CO. From looking at how Rogue Squadron and Walking Dead Squadron work, the CO would mainly just maintain the list of who has signed up for the delegation and occasionally push out merchandise runs.

Yes, maintain a list of members and use of the logo.

Unless someone else is really gearing to, I can do it.

Seeing that a bit late, I just answered Jenna's mp actually.
TO summarize what I answered :
What is the point of such a thing ? What does it change except more merchandising (which is not why RL was created), and/or more division between members ?
What will it brings except new fancy name and logo (that can looks cool, here is not the point) and new merchandising ?

As for the name, sapphire is pretty nice and also relates to the stone which is valuable and usually considered as something elegant and sign of power (which fits well with concept of senate).
Note : If we edit a flyer for tutorial, what about "Fifty shades of blue guards" as a title ? :p

If we want to push the thing. I would say it then requires a motto too ! Something like the famous Semper Fi.
Maybe something like "Our life for the senate" or "Our life for the democracy", "For the democracy", I like the idea of mentioning democracy in it as what they ultimately defend more than the senators.

The main point is to put focus on the guards and create a strong community between the senate guards. Smile The merch is an added bonus.

I like the slogan idea. I think that would be great. Very Happy

Yes but this is exactly the point. How will the facts to create the delegation will put this focus and create this community more than RLGS according to you ?
For example, could you tell me how many validated senate guard are in RL and how many are members of RLGS ? If 90% are already members of RLGS, what will it change to get a community ?

There are currently 18 approved senate guards, but I do not know how many are a part of the RLGS.

This would serve the same function as base level delegations in putting focus on the costumes and help encourage others do to them. Encouragement is important to help raise up a certain costume or group of costumes, but first you need awareness. A delegation can help create that awareness.

I work long and irregular hours now and would find it hard to be in any sort of position where it took time away from work and for the care of my older parents, I am there live in carer as well now, I am quite happy to have Michael take the role if he wishes or if anyone else wishes I will also consider them.

I believe Azure still is the better name, it doesn't ring a earth tone as sapphire does although it was a good choice.
I'm a little up in the clouds about a slogan, I never really thought they were important, but I am open for convincing.

Raising awareness that Blue Senate Guards exist is important, I have a friend on the other side of Australia that is also trying his hand at building a Costume and I believe he only knew of there existence because of my costume and I have been feeding as much information as I can to help him.

Any form of advertising is a good way to promote us guards and we really need more, the primary focus should be promotion and some times Merc is that focus, although each member has the choice to purchase the Merc or not, and are great at swap meets or what ever you call them in your country.

Thanks for piping in, Darkwar. Smile Good to know you are helping others with this costume. Keep it up. Very Happy

The blue guards are at least as cool as the red guards, but cooler, right? Wink

Sure we are cooler, at least for the ep 1 with plumes :p
Also we have no visor so we can breath, and we don't have a ridiculous stick but a rifle Razz (ok ok, not all of the guards, but the best ones Razz)

Ah very nice (I so need to do that as mine can get a little stuffy).

It is a fun costume. No one rocks blue velvet like the Senate Guards.

Hey hum posting congratulations in another topic I just got idea maybe not to go on guards name again for the delegation we could go on watch ?

The Azure Watch ? Is this proper english ?
Azurian watchers ?
The Rotunda's Watch ?

Also it feels fore me more like a military order similar to night's watch in Games of Thrones.

Could have a vows too similar to that :p
Senators gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife/husband, hold no lands, father/mother no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword of the republic. I am the watcher on the rotunda. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of democracy. I pledge my life and honor to the Azure Watch, for this rotation and all the rotations to come.
Unfortunately we know they can marry and have children !
