Hello out there.

There's something addictive about Rebel ground forces so I'm tempted to go rogue with a marine.

I'm thinking along the lines of a Gorka 4 jacket with an M79 vest. M1 lid with the armour band and Helikon SFU trousers.

A fair starting point? Are there any boot pointers or modifications required to trousers, etc?

I also have the Nerf Jyn blaster without the stock or barrel extension if that's convertable but I've not found a screen cap of this configuration.

Any thoughts on this proposal?

Thanks.

Sounds like the right way to start.
After I figured, I saw in the Visual Guide that Private Calfor was wearing black Swiss army leather gaiters over slip-on or zippered boots, I talked to the actor who played him in Rogue One and he confirmed my theory.
Hope this helps.

Yes, I've been through the 40 pages in the other thread and I started to look in shoe shops for suitable footwear.

I think there's a pic of the blaster in the contracted form in there too and I can see a cleared nerf Shortie.

I've got the STL files for the helmet shield and some items are in the procurement process.

I feel this process might be rolling.

I quite like the look of these boots.

I've found swiss leather gaiters but in black. Aside from painting, is there a way to get them brown?

Lunchtime in town saw me pick up a pair of these.

Half price, seemed rude not to. A little bit of dye on the lighter bit and I think these look good. Comfortable too.

YOu could try sanding them to expose the leather and then dye brown. May not make them super brown, but a brown tint may do the trick.

A bunch of bits turned up today, more or less completing the lower half of the costume.
I also happened across stuff called TRG Easy Dye. Claims not to need the black stripping back in order to dye brown.

Any experience of this stuff?

Jacket arrived from Russia this afternoon so I threw it one for a WIP update.

There's some colour tweaks here and there, mainly the vest and boots, and sleeve pockets should go. Armour ring for the helmet is being quoted for printing and I'm going for a different pouch on the right hip.

And some dirt. Got to have dirt.

A good crawl through the dirt will help everything be the same color Wink

Where did you source the scope and stock mods for the Jyn NERF blaster? I've picked up one and plan to mod it as well.

Sourced?

They're handmade from 2mm styrene sheet and 32mm pvc pipe.

Looking good so far! What are you using for the boot tops?

They're the Swiss leather gaiters.

Since the picture I've acetoned, sanded and dyed them brown, then scuffed to lighten and weather a bit. They're a very dark brown now but I prefer it to just plain black.
