Thank you! There's so much painstaking detail on this and I'm loving all of it.

I put in my order for my boot disks and bandolier kit. Hoping to work on some soft goods this week, get my magnets for the scope attachment. Still not sure if I want to call the painting done or not. I won't install the visors until then.

And I realize I didn't post up shots of adding depth to the crown. Whups. Here we go!

I started by taking a q-tip and dabbing a little gunmetal over the flat aluminum splotch. Then layered up with german grey. Then taking a fine brush, put in lines of flat black then smeared that with a q-tip.

I'm still tweaking on the helmet, I have some work to do on the leather and secure the magnet to the scope. I'll be using E6000 and a screw that will fit into the countersunk magnet.

Today I went ahead and picked up the upholstery cording for my girth belt. While at the fabric store, I grabbed some parachute clips. These should work for the boots! (If they don't, I can always use them for strap rigging on armor.)

I started stitching on the cummerbund today. I have 16 ribs, and ran out of upholstery cording, so this is where I stopped for now. It's about 8" wide at the moment, but will squish in (probably another 2") when I finish off/close up the ends.

I'm thinking if I add two more rows in for the preferred 18, it may be too wide for my torso. I triple checked measurements on what size cording I thought I'd need, and thought this was going to be just right.

When my husband gets off work, I'll need his assistance in photo taking of the belt while I hold it around me for better reference.

OK, not as wide as I thought. I should be good to add two more rows to bring it to 18 and not have it look too wide once completed. I need to squish in the rows to hide the actual stitch lines when I add in my fasteners. (Leaning heavily towards eyelets/grommets.)

I THINK.

But it looks wide and proportionate enough. RLGS leadership, thoughts?

Sorry for the angles, not enough hands. lol

Yeah, Leia's cummerbund is pretty wide, so I think you are good.

yea- you are wanting it to hit from just under-bust/lower-bust to start of your hips so more rows would help for sure

Thumbhole practice for Boushh gauntlets. It's not pretty, but it's not supposed to be.

I needed to test stitch length and width to manually simulate a buttonhole style stitching. Neither machine's buttonholer could produce the size needed.

Gauntlet mockup!

It was a little tight, so I sized it up a bit.. and... left gauntlet!

Tomorrow, I'll work on adding the spikes and the reinforcement, then hemming up around the knuckles.

Spikes added!  I'm placing my order for my bandolier kit and boot disks tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll be using scrap fabric to mock up a pattern for my boot spats.

I started on my outer tunic today. I'm slightly modifying the Simplicity 5840 tunic. Basically I'm skipping the interfacing the pattern calls for and shortening the sleeves.

i got the shoulder seams and sleeves added today. Between eclipse madness, sewing something the wrong way and having to backtrack... That's all I got accomplished today. LOL

Tomorrow I'll be stitching up the sides, sleeves and hemming.
