Contacts/Team Lead:

Karen Katich (925-265-3046) TL
Tami Ashford (925-808-8359)
Mike Morris (650-218-7412)

Map: https://www.marinfair.org/2017/~/media/files/fair/2017/2017-fair-food-vendor-placement-map.pdf

Arrival:
Please proceed to the “VENDOR” parking lot. It is “Past” the Main Gate Parking. Notify parking person at driveway entrance that you are headed to “Vendor Parking” so you do NOT pay for parking. At “Vendor” Gate, tell the Security Guard you are with the Star Wars Costuming Group (501st, Golden Gate Garrison, Rebel Legion, R2 Builders Group, Mandalorian Merks, CCG) and give them your name.

Your name and anyone with you in the vehicle must be on the list for entrance. Entrance through that gate is entrance to the fair. If you are bringing family members that are not Handlers on any day except the 4th of July, they will be required to purchase an entrance pass. Any issues with entry notify any one of the contacts above and we will take care of it.

Parking:
Please proceed to the Vendor lot and park anywhere in that lot.

Entrance:
Please enter the “Exhibit Hall Bldg” via the entrance by the Fair Office. (See Map) If arrival is before actual building/exhibit opening, tell them you are with the Star Wars Costuming group and you are headed to the assigned changing room (Buckeye Room).

Changing/Break Room Location:
Located in the Exhibit Hall Bldg.
Room: Buckeye Room
(It will have a notification sheet on the door for GGG/RL personnel only).

Break Room use:
Please be courteous to other members with tubs and costumes.
Please allow room for others to be able to change.
Please mark your water bottles with your name.
Please clean up after yourselves.
Any problems or issues with the break room, please notify the TL or one of the contacts.

Hours:
Costumed hours are 11am – 7pm. (* Ribbon Cutting 10am-11am**)
Changing / Break Room Access: 9am – 8pm. The changing room will be locked after that time. You may leave your tubs there if you wish.
Exhibit Room:
It is located in the Main Exhibit Bldg. towards the back left-hand side where we have been for several years.

Droid Room:
It is located in the Exhibit Room as before, behind the curtain by loading dock doors. It is locked after hours, so Droids can be left there if you wish.

Weapons Policy:
GGG policy is in effect with regards to proper handling of blasters while in public.
Blasters, BFG, Lightsabers are allowed.
Weapons are requested to be covered while bringing them into and out of the building. Please wrap your Blasters/BFG/Lightsaber to ensure that there is no question about carrying a real looking weapon into the fair. Any questions regarding proper handling, please check the GGG Forum Board on Weapons Policy or ask Team Leaders.

Handlers:
Primary focus is on costumed personnel. Monitoring and maintaining safety of our people takes priority over assistance with taking a photo for someone.

Secondary focus is on displays and monitoring for unruly patrons in our display area. If you see anything that warrants concern, please get the attention of the main display handlers. They will take care of it or they will notify Fair Security if warranted.
Food Vouchers:
We will have a food voucher for each member/handler for each day. This is from a specific food vendor. You may order anything from that booth. Please see one of the contacts for your voucher.

Main Concerns:

Lots of KIDS!!!
Please be mindful of small ones running around.
Older ones may try to get to costume parts/blasters etc.
Kids with disabilities have been growing in the past. Be mindful that the child may be autistic or other handicap when it comes to asking them to be careful with their actions or near the displays or costumed members. Try to have parents attend to the child instead of you.

HEAT!!
Be mindful of the amount of time you are in costume! Even though we are indoors with A/C it can still tax a person in costume. Take a break! Watch each other’s back. If you notice a member who you feel needs a break, get them to take one or take one with them. Or notify a handler to take care of it.

Outside!!
Members have gone outside the main exhibit display in the past and have stood just outside the Main Exhibit Hall Bldg.
Please ensure that the display area is not left unoccupied by costumed members.
Please ensure that you notify a handler if you plan to be outside the display area. This is for your safety! It is preferable that a handler be present while helmeted members are outside.
Members are not allowed to WALK the fair in costume without notifying Security. This is not only for your safety, but also to prevent any concerns from Patrons who DO NOT KNOW US and see a person carrying what appears to be a real weapon.

HAVE FUN!!
This is a great event with lots of people and lots of kids. Please be sure to take the time to have fun! Not only while in costume, but afterwards take some time to enjoy the fair! Stay for the Fireworks! They are put on every night and are set up by one of our Garrison Members as part of the pyrotechnics team, Mike Morris.

Any other concerns or questions please feel free to contact any one of the three main contacts listed above! Or notify anyone from the Command Staff if required.

Thanks!
Glad you are able to join us!
