If someone could help me, i have some questions regarding the lining.

How do you girls sew the lining on the sleeves, the 2 layers together?

I dont know how to do it :/

Sewing the lining at the bottom of the dress it's easy for me but the sleeves are giving me headaches

Lining always confuses the mess out of me. So I'm happy when I can skip it or self line. Meaning you line with the same fabric as what faces outwards. (Aka the 'right' side.) That way I'm less confused about turning things inside out cause it's the same fabric regardless.

However I should practice more with lining that way it helps me learn wrong side from right side in construction.

See if this helps you.. I've been camping my laptop in my sewing room so I can hit up YouTube for visual tutorials.

I think ideally you would self line. I would do one sleeve at a time of the dress is all together already. To make sure there are no twists I put my lining on a dress form inside out and then my outside fabric over it right side out. Pin around the sleeve where it should be then go between the two layers and shift the links so the raw edges are now on the inside (hope I described that ok). There are easier ways hit this helps me feel like there are no twists and I can be super picky lining up seams.

If you can't self line cut the lining some measurement (between 1/2 and 2 inches based on your preference) shorter than the length of the sleeve and the outside fabric the same measurement longer, that way the seam ends up inside the sleeve.

So finally i got to work on another site to post my photos,
here is what i have done on the dress till this point

The colar:

The hood:

And the lining, i made a pattern out of a cardboard, then cut the fabric, now i'm going to make another one just like this, the lining is the same fabric as the outside.

i've been following this tutorial: http://chucrew.com/Leia/dresspattern.html

Hello

so i've finally finished my dress, i don't have any finished photos, but will take some in the following days =D

So here are my photos of what i've been doing.
The too layers of fabric ready to stitch the sleeves.

i had a hard time doing the sleeves but i managed to get them right.

The hems in the dress in these photos aren't finished or pressed, didn't had the hood or colar stitched, i just wanted to see how it fitted with the too layers.

I manage to get the colar better than it previous state, thanks to all you girls in the FB group that gave me tips =D

I'm not sure about this gap yet, but it's way better than it was before:

Don't know if it will be approved with this gap (it's the only thing that bothers me in this dress. but i'll have to try, and submit.
