Hey everyone! I'm looking to join the RL as a Generic Jedi, and wanted to post my ideas to see what you all think and whether or not it would be approvable. I've studied the CRL and it seems all of my ideas comply. Rather than the traditional prequel era Jedi with tabards and long sleeve outer tunic, I was planning on having a hooded, sleeveless outer tunic in the style of Ki Adi Mundi. The inner tunic will be long sleeved to follow the CRL. Additionally, I will be wearing arm wraps. Also, I found a belt that I like very much, as it is a hybrid belt that has the prequel era style but an original trilogy style buckle. Would this be approvable? The color scheme for the costume will be gray, white, and black, and I will have lightsabers with white blade colors. Here are the URLs for the robes, belt, and arm wraps. Thanks!

Except for the buckle on the belt all looks fine in the pics. Of course, fit is everything so make sure it's fitted to you. (And it's better to get something a bit too long than too short).

Hmm, so that belt wouldn't be approvable? Because I absolutely love the look of the prequel era belt mixed with the OT style buckle. My sabers will have D-rings instead of covertec wheels, so I feel like this would be a complimentary look for it.

Browsing around I found this Jedi costume by member Hopfot (Scott), and he seems to have a similar prequel era belt with OT style large square buckle. If his was approved, I hope the one I linked would be as well.

I don't think that Hopfot's costume was approved under the current generic jedi CRL. You have to be careful when looking at other members costumes. You often can't use them as an example because, depending on when the costume was approved, they were approved under an older CRL.

re: OT-style buckle.

the CRL says 'oval' or 'rectangle'.
the judges can be quite literal with these things
I'm not sure that buckle would fly, even for an OT-style belt.
it looks like a "correllian smuggler" buckle Wink not something we've seen on "jedi" in the films.

-===-

the judges are not opposed to 'hybrid' belts, in general..
this one was approved very recently.

here is the build thread -- it was submitted / approved within the last month.

he uses a PT-style belt , with an 'oval' buckle similar to this one:

as you can see, the judges are not opposed to 'hybrid' belts (OT-style buckle on a PT-style belt).
it just needs to be the correct shape.
