Hi all!

This is my first post so I'm sorry if I mess anything up. I have been researching the wedding gown and think I've found the perfect fabric to make the over coat but I want to check in here before I invest in it. Thoughts?

That looks like a pretty fantastic match:

The original looks a bit more ivory, so you may need to dye it to match your other lace bits.

The original also didn't have the flower pattern that yours does. To me, it seems close enough, but it would be good to have a judge's opinion on whether or not that would be a problem.

I did a lot of research and I've seen people who made the costume in the past. The closest non-floral fabric I've been able to find has been organza and I thought that the net like texture of the original costume was more important to preserve than avoiding the very minor floral motifs.

But I'd love a judge's opinion. Is there a polite way to reach out to the judges beyond posting on here and hoping someone sees it?

In general I agree with the points Jenna have made; dye it a darker ivory/cream color to offset it more from the white of the opaque inner gown. And yes, non-floral would have been great, but it's very hard to find, so this might be good enough. I don't think anyone would notice when you put it all together, just see a beautiful costume. Smile

I just ordered a yard sample with half of it dyed darker and the other half the original color. I will post pictures once I receive it.

The only place I shop online for fabric: Etsy. I spent weeks looking through every combination of net, non-floral, lace etc. If it works out I'll post the link here.

Thanks for the advice! I'll post tests as soon as they arrive
