Is it not the same hose as on the x-wing pilots?

And, sorry two more questions --

Have we identified the connector piece at the end of the hose?

Does anyone have a line on someone producing the boxes? I see one on shapeways that's a decent size...

Well, it is the same hose for all of the pilots in TLJ (X-wing, A-wing, Bomber, Etc). But it is a distinctly different hose from the one used in TFA.

Have we been able to identify that hose?

Yeah, that's me. I'm pretty sure the model matches pretty close with the measurements you gave, but the angle of the shot makes me wonder if I'm off by up to a centimeter in major diameter. I'll keep updating the model, but I really can't imagine that it's a bespoke part, but I guess it could be.

Hey all! Denny here from NYC. I just figured out how to upload photos. I've taken some insanely high res photos and took measurements on the Poe NYCC 17 suit.

I also work next to the fabric store that sold the original pilot trim to foodles and did my research.

I think I found something pretty damn close... I just mailed some to Phil Kellar and have a few rolls myself. Let me know if you have any questions.

Denny

That looks amazing. Do you have any idea where I can get my hands on some of that ribbing? I would love it for both an A-wing costume and MKII of my X-wing costume.

Yeah...........
This needs to be done Smile
The more I look at the A-wing stuff, or the Bomber crew for that matter, it needs to happen.

Hoping like hell we can see the suits in person.... THAT is the key. I won't touch making the stuff until I see definitive photos that I can make patterns from.

Thanks to Angela and Denny for finding stuff so far! I will be playing around with dye on that white elastic someday soon.

That goes second for me too.

I am in the process of getting a ROTJ a-wing suit ready.

Until LFL has official documentation of the TFA, TLJ, Eps 9, Eps 10-12(?) costumes. I will just do what is already in the public domain.

Though pictures and illustrations WILL help. I know the RL webmaster(s) are hard at work.

Just want to say that I keep checking this thread every so often, love the enthusiasm.

Angela and CaptainTightPants, I added your images to my Imgur album, lots of great stuff there!

I totally agree that we need to see this costume in person, on display, to get lots of pictures and better part identification. I don't think it hurts to discuss what we have found so far and try to source the pieces we can identify though! I'm still updating my Google Doc with info when I find it, but sadly this is few and far between so far.

Thank you! As much as I am dyyyyying to start on a couple of A-wings I'm with Phil about not getting fully going on putting it together until more images are available. I'm hoping they will have added some TLJ costumes including the A-Wing, bomber crew, and transport pilots as well as the ground troops to the travelling exhibit when it comes here to Detroit in May. For now I'm sticking with acquiring bits and pieces of hardware and such and drafting a basic flightsuit pattern for my kid and by the time I get to doing mine I'll be in the shape I want to be in as well. :p

Someone also needs to start making either the bomber pilot, gunner or bombardier helmet. 'Cause all three have different helmets. Wink

Here are a couple of fabric sample I have gathered in 1000d and 500D cordura

My inclination is that Khaki seems to be the best match for color. Contrary to it's name, it is far more green than tan.

Thoughts?
