I've decided to attempt my first canon, face character and I'm going with one that I really like - Obi-wan Kenobi. Specifically the Clone Wars Season 1 Jedi General version.

I have armor ordered from Kevin Weir and plan to build the chest/collar plates.

I have one question before I start. Is it approvable to use some "realistic" pieces with this costume? Specifically I'm asking about the belt and its hardware. I'm not real keen on that animated bowtie buckle on his belt and would like to use the Episode III version. Is this a dealbreaker?

Unfortunately yes it is.

The character you are submitting as, is the animated version and the appearance needs to be the same as the cartoon series Wink

Fair enough.

And Shay, your build/tutorial is what made the decision for me to do this version. Very well documented build. I'll be referring to it often.

Armor from Kevin arrived. It might be a bit before I get to start working on it but having it in hand pushes me to keep up with the build.

I'm going to hopefully start on the armor this week(end) so look for some updates on that soon.

I have a question on the tunic. Is there a template or pattern for this version or do I just have to wing it?

Also on the collar/neck seal thing, can I use a dickie style turtleneck for this piece? I'll make sure its smooth and matches the animated look.

Here's the armor set I got from Imperial Surplus.

All standard Clone Trooper armor with the addition of Obi-wan's unique gauntlets. I'll take a picture of what I've gotten trimmed and post it this weekend along with any additional progress I make.

Hi, I'm also doing this armor, and I've designed the 3D model.

Looks really nice, are they printable?

Thanks for an answer from you.

See you
Thomas

Yes, I 3D print them, now it's finished, and the clothes are being prepared.

Hey, what part did you do? I've finished my armor and my clothes, and I'll take photos and upload when the wig and the beard arrive.

I notice a lack of comlink on the bracer. I plan on doing armor like this eventually. Any thought on how you'll tackle that?

I haven't had a chance to work on this yet. I have some time to myself the next couple of weeks so I'm hoping to get some work done on it.

Would you guys please move the discussion of your 3D printed armor either to PMs or another thread? I don't want it getting confused with this thread which is supposed to be for my build. Thanks.

The comlink is actually in the picture. Its the black oval at the bottom left. I'm not sure how I'll attach it yet. Maybe with magnets.
