Im down to just needing boots to complete my costume, and while looking around i found some boots that are close to fitting the bill. Issue is, theyre made with PVC.

They all look about like this(im aware that these particular boots has some weird engravings and marks, but it gives a good reference to what they generally look like):
https://www.amazon.com/CLC-Leathercraft-Rain-Wear-R23009/dp/B002WN2SYO/ref=pd_sbs_469_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B002WN2SYO&pd_rd_r=CTBAFDYPE1H90CZZAW6C&pd_rd_w=RCkJU&pd_rd_wg=OiuJj&psc=1&refRID=CTBAFDYPE1H90CZZAW6C

The standard states that "Leather pull-on style preferred-", and im wondering if that simply means that it would be preferred that i had leather boots, but PVC is an ok alternative, or if i have to have leather boots.

Additonally, if this is acceptable, and if in fact many people go with this, do they tend to be comfortable? Im all for saving a few bucks, but if cheaping out means sore feet, id rather have some nicer boots and pay for that privilege.

I don't know if they're approvable, but if you're standing with a bunch of other pilots, do you want rubber boots when all the other pilots have leather jack boots?

The same Jack boots are used for TIE Pilot costumes. So feel free to join the Jolly Roger Squadron forums and check their recommendations for boots and gloves.

eBay is a good source, and so are some of these if they have your size:

Hello! Unfortunately rubber boots are not acceptable, the boots should be leather, pleather, or something with a similar look, but not rubber. Have you tried looking at motorcycle boots? Some of those can work if you remove the straps from them. Engineer boots also work if you, again, remove the straps from them
