After two years this project is getting close to completion. I went to my local fabric store yesterday and bought the khaki thread that I needed to continue.
I did some work on the collar today. I had to do the stitching twice because I did not get the spacing right the first time. I hope to finish the jacket this week.

I finished the jacket today. Now I just have to paint the transponder, add the carry strap to my A-300, and take application photos.

Thank you for the compliment.

I made an adjustable sling for my A-300. When I looked at the photo I took I say some red. I have to check that. I hope the paint is not coming off.

I decided not to use my coyote brown Rotho BDU pants for this costume. The PLCE belt does not fit through the belt loops and I just do not want to adjust them. I'll just use the dark brown TRU-Spec BDU pants from my Signals Intelligence Technician instead. I got rid of my green PLCE belt because it was too stiff. I am using my tan PLCE belt instead. My Yavin Operation Trooper is going to be pretty much a Signals Intelligence Technician with a khaki Cassian Andor style jacket and A-300 blaster. You just have to love the Rogue One costumes.

That's unfortunate if the paint is flaking, but it's fortunately a simple fix.

Good solutions for the belt and trousers.
I agree, these costumes are essentially "modular" and I love them for it.

Paint wear is always the issue with Nerf guns. The biggest help I've found is to sand the entire thing with 220 grit before you spray. It helps the paint stick a lot. I've also gone to doing the entire gun silver before I mask and spray the black. It gives an extra layer of protection and a light bump will just expose the silver.

Everything is ok with my blaster. I checked it after I wrote my last post. The paint did not come off. The scope was pushed forward that is all. We store it in a cardboard box with other Star Wars costume items on my closet and something must have knocked into the scope hard enough to push it forward on the rail when we either put the box up or took it down.

My husband never sands blasters but always primes them before he paints them. Then they get a couple of layers of silver before he paints them with a couple of layers of black. We usually let them weather naturally and never had any problems with his paint jobs.

The scope was on the main body of the blaster when my husband painted it. The rail does not have layers of primer, silver, and black paint on it where the scope is positioned. When it got pushed forward it just uncovered the unpainted area. I was actually surprised the scope moved at all because it usually cannot move without applying some force to it.

Thank you. my husband took my application photos this afternoon. I hope everything looks ok.

Here are some photos of the washed jacket, the painted transponder as well as both sides of the A-300 blaser riffle.

I just sent in my application. Here are the photos I used.

The base of my costume is my Signals Intelligence Technician.

I spent about 3 hours of my Sunday morning adding the topstitching to my yoke. I caught the problem approximately 3 hours before my judge over in the Galactic Strategic Command contacted me. I cannot believe that I forgot them. I should know better since I was one of the people working on the CS. Here are some photos of the jacket. I even took new application photos but for some reason, the added topstitching is not visible because the camera cannot catch it.

My Yavin Operation Trooper was approved this morning. There are only four of us worldwide and I am the first one in Germany. Four Rogue One costume down, one more (Scarif Marine) to go.

Congrats on your approval! I'm super impressed with the job you did on that jacket. I wish I could sew that well. Well done all around!

Thank you very much for the compliment. I have been sewing costumes on a regular bases for almost six years now. Most of my sewing skills are "learning by doing". I had mandatory sewing lessons in school but that basic knowledge was barely enough to sew my first costume, which was my Jawa.

I like this. A lot!
did you make the jacket from scratch or is it a modification?
