I agree with keeping the helmet requirement. I could see waiving it in the case of alien RFTs, only, because there is precedent for major headgear changes to standard helmets to accommodate alien physiology.

I personally don’t really care about the oval buckles, pro or con. Or belt boxes, for that matter. (Tho belt boxes should at least be strongly encouraged since they were so commonly worn)

I do see a valid argument for visible extra adjustment holes. It was *sometimes* done for officers (several have on screen examples) and the costumers tended to use the same shortcuts all across the movie. We have visual evidence of at least one instance.

I like my rank badge and am approved with it, so I’ll keep wearing it. But if it gets dropped I understand. Not clear how it made it in, if there’s no evidence. I always assumed there was.

I agree the ceremony scene shouldn’t be used as an example for much of anything. It was an all hands on deck scramble. Extras told to bring their own shoes since the prop dept didn’t have enough proper boots, or the budget to get more. Pants untucked to hide the funky shoes. Put “something on their heads!” in an emergency, no matter how the costume was for the rest of the movie, shouldn’t be the basis for substantive changes to an otherwise iconic costume.

Well nobody answered my question on how many times something must be seen on screen to be considered for the CS. I think consistency is important and the movies should be our main source of reference.

There is no visual proof of ANH RFT with rank badges or I would have posted it. I like the rank badges and do not really want to get rid of them but I am also of the opinion that we should only use items that were in the movie. We still need an in canon visual reference for the new CS standard.

I am not a big fan of the celebration cap because I think they are ugly but they were in the movie and my husband likes them so I am Ok with adding them. Unfortunately, that will not help us with our alien problem. I would be willing to work on a battlefront RFT CS so that we could get more aliens into R.A.I.D if that would help.

None of my reference screencaps were from the celebration. That scene was indeed a mess. My posted screencaps were from the Tantive IV scenes and the pilot briefing on Yavin 4.

I would be OK with the wording for the belt but I am not sure if everybody would understand that it means that the belt can have extra holes for adjustment.

In the celebration scene, they were trying to fill the hall with bodies. NONE and I mean NONE of the costumes in that scene are anything like what they were in the rest of the movie. The powers that be long ago decided to pretend that scene didn't exist.
Using the arguments I've seen here, no pants should be tucked in and disco shoes should be approvable.

The guys without helmets show up later very dead, safety first. Cool
Maybe they're running to the locker room to get their buckets.

Unless it is the specific Celebration cap, the helmets will remain.
An unmodified tan ball cap will not be an approvable headgear item.

We started requiring the BDU pants because every brand, style, and color of cargo pant was being submitted. There was no way to get consistent colors.
Put several RFTs in one place. The colors are all over the spectrum even now.

Extra holes in the belt? No problem.I'll rant some more later
Much appreciated for your work done!

BTW the BDU pants also have a lot of variation on the grey definition, we have seen Proper and Tru-spec are a little darker than the Rothco.

There are no alien RFT's in the O.T. I see no point in continuing that discussion.

OP updated. Changed wording on the belt to: The belt is made of non-textured leather or leather-like material.

We've spent nearly 3 months discussing it. Let's move forward.

Last thing we need is to have pictures of the four pocket vest layout and the rank badge. Anyone have those and want to volunteer images of them for the CS?

I can snap a quick photo of my BDU conversion vest, if that's what you mean. I'd offer up my rank badge, too, but we should probably use one with a different pip layout.

Good timing, since I was headed to the garage anyway. Smile It's a little rumply, but then, so were they. LOL

I took a pic of my rank badge as well, just in case you want it.

These are screen-sized versions... the links are to the high res.

high res BDU vest

Last thing: Does anyone have a field cap that they could share an image of? I'd like to have an image that isn't watermarked. I'm working on getting an image of the vest without a watermark too.

A pic of the back of the vest is needed as well.

The back of the BDU-style vest? I could snap a pic of mine, but I haven’t gotten around to adding the back pockets yet, so it’s just a plain BDU shirt back. On my to-do list, but hasn’t happened yet. Do you want that?

Edit: Heading out to work, so just in case, here it is, if you want it:

High res of BDU Vest back

(Apologies for the wrinkles; I'm in a bit of a rush to leave now)
