How are religious obligations handled? For example, if a Muslim woman wanted to dress as Padme, then could she still wear her hijab? Or would she need to wear a wig over the hijab that looked like Padme's hair?

I personally advocate for making religious exceptions. I asked around when I was trooping at Legoland Malaysia, and the general consensus was that it may be inappropriate to require people to style their head scarves like the character, as religious head coverings are very personal.

I believe when I brought it up a year ago when I was still a judge, the decision was that it would be a case-by-case basis, though I do not know exactly where we stand now.

We already have medical equpitment exceptions, and I see this as very similar.

I will always advocate for people who would like a religious exception, and I am open to the idea of codifying those exceptions into official policy, but I firmly believe that that needs to be done by people who actually wear religious garments.

Thanks for the information and your opinion. I normally advocate for screen accuracy, but I agree that accommodations should be made in special situations. We’re here to have fun and make people happy.

We have long talked about making a list of costumes that are good in terms of already including head scarves and such, but I don't think we ever got a proper list done.

If in doubt; handmaidens. Razz

The list would be a nice reference.

And you are correct with the handmaidens. LOL

But thanks for the reminder. We should continue work on that list. Smile The standard rewriting process just have us floored with all the work we have to do.

After looking at all of the Padme costumes, my wife likes the refugee dress the best. That has a built-in head covering, so that will work well.

Thanks for the input.

No bias on your end. Smile

Thank you for the other option. I've seen a few people who dress as Barriss, and it is a good-looking costume.
