This page is a listing of the minimum requirements for specific Rebel Legion costumes. Although this list is extensive, it is meant to cover the more common costumes and is not meant to be a complete list of all possible costumes that may be admitted by the Rebel Legion. If your costume is not listed here, you should consult the Legion Membership Officer (LMO) to see if it will be admissable. Changes or additions to this list may be submitted here. For easier reference, the master list has been broken down by character.
NOTE: The costume standards are a guide, yet are not an all inclusive outline of required elements. The judges will be looking for quality of workmanship, accurate execution and use of materials in addition to these general standards check lists. Leia Organa (Episode IV: A New Hope, Senatorial Gown)
Required Items:
- White ankle-length gown in an opaque, non-shiny knit fabric with high, fitted collar fastened with hooks/eyes. Gown has a white, partially open hood reaching to just below the waist (gathered rectangle style preferred), wrist-length to knuckle length bell sleeves and slits up the sides to or just below the knee. Gown may not have shoulder seams unless raglan and no center front or back seam. Lining the gown is recommended but not required.
- Belt is white firm, non-shiny leather or leather-like material with slight "V" shape. It has 8 metal pieces on it, 7 elongated octagonal matching with one pentagon shape in the center front. The 7th octagonal plate is placed over the center back closure. Belt pieces should be spaced according to the wearer’s waist measurement or additional plates identical to the 7 octagonal plates may be added for an even-spaced look (though 8 plates total are preferred and no less than 8 plates allowed).
- White leather or non-shiny vinyl flat or low (1/4" to 1 1/2" in height recommended) soled boots, at least mid calf high without laces or logos.
- Hair is parted in or near the center and pulled into large buns that cover the ears. Buns are twisted, not braided. No braided hairpieces, wig with braided buns or fake hair “ear-muffs” with headband. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs.
Optional Items:
- DDC Defender long-barrel blaster
- E-11 Stormtrooper blaster
- 8th metal plate on the back of the belt.

Leia Organa (Episode IV: A New Hope, Ceremonial Gown)
Required Items:
- White A-line floor-length gown covered in semi-sheer, soft, non-shiny fabric. Gown has an empire-waistline with a distinctive inverted V-shape under the bust and low scoop neckline. Gown should be 2 layers, undergown of white clingy fabric and over-gown of white semi-sheer fabric. A short train to the semi-sheer overlay is preferred but not required.
- "Wings" flowing from bust out to long draping sleeves, made in same semi-sheer fabric as the overdress.
- Belt is silver firm, non-shiny leather or leather-like material with slight "V" shape. It has 7 metal pieces on it, 6 elongated octagonal matching with one pentagon shape in the center front. Belt pieces should be spaced according to the wearer’s waist measurement or additional plates identical to the 6 octagonal plates may be added for an even-spaced look (though 7 plates total are preferred and no less than 7 plates allowed).
- Silver dress shoes up to a 2” heel (2” recommended).
- Silver collar necklace with 1" squares and a silver cuff bracelet.
- Hair pulled into large braided bun with one long braid descending from beneath the bun. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs.
Optional Items:
- Small train for the semi-sheer overlay
- Diagonal pleat on the left side of the bodice

Leia Organa (Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Hoth Gear)
Required Items:
- White jumpsuit in a non-shiny fabric with pill-shaped padded patches on the upper arms and forearms with larger patches on the thighs in a rounded and contoured diagonal quilted zig-zag design, quilted side front and side back sections, piping trim and a waist-length, top-stitched matching belt. A padded jumpsuit is preferred but not required.
- Off-white or cream padded vest with diamond-shaped quilting below the yoke, a padded, rounded fold-over collar and piping trim details.
- Rank insignia on upper left side of the vest yoke.
- Wrist communicator attached to the left forearm quilted patch.
- Grey leather or non-shiny vinyl wedge-heel knee boots with three straps, worn with the jumpsuit pant legs tucked in.
- Hair pulled back into braids that wraps around the head. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs.
Optional Items:
- Off-white or cream leather gloves

Leia Organa (Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Bespin Gown)
Required Items:
- Burgundy or maroon-colored tunic in a non-shiny fabric that falls to mid-thigh. Fitted sleeves end in rounded point just past the wrist. Neckline and wrists have copper metallic trim.
- Loose harem pants with fitted ankles the same fabric as the tunic.
- Diamond-shaped stiff belt covered in same fabric as tunic and pants.
- Off-white cloak in a non-shiny fabric with a padded yoke with standing collar and metallic copper trim, along with a sheer non-shiny lining the same color as the tunic and pants and a copper metallic trim. The off-white fabric of the cloak is decorated in a stylized, paisley-like pattern filled with a “fish scales” design complete with rosettes of varying sizes at the waistline and hem in shades of yellow, pink, burgundy, and brown.
- Flat shoes dyed to match color of tunic/pants.
- Hair is pulled back into bun at the crown of the head with two thick looped braids hanging from the bun. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs.

Leia Organa (Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, End Gown)
Required Items:

Leia Organa (Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Boushh Disguise)
Required Items:
- Proper brown weathered helmet with tan deerskin snout, a silver flanking nose “combs” and two dark green visors, and a stitched strap at the back, weathered with proper greeblies and painting.
- Brown weathered shoulder armor with gray metallic tanks (the left tank longer than the right tank) and a weathered greeblie (comlink) center front below the collar with reddish lettering. Tanks should be weathered with proper niches, greeblies, handle, spout, and reddish lettering.
- Bandolier of gray twill belting with proper weathered greeblies and small canisters.
- Beige or tan weathered suede or suedecloth mid-thigh-length tunic with a V-neck, a center front opening and large sleeves reaching just below the elbows. No visible closures or fastenings.
- Tan leather or leather-like hip-length tunic with a dark brown suede or suedecloth turtleneck collar and dark brown suede or suedecloth sleeves worn beneath the outer tunic. Sleeves are styled to fingerless gauntlets with 8 spike studs at each knuckle in a triangular pattern.
- Beige or tan semi-circular weathered cape of herringbone or other heavy woven material.
- Beige or tan suede or suedecloth gloves to wear underneath studded gauntlets.
- Medium or dark brown wide suede or suedecloth obi with a ribbed texture (rope quilting preferred).
- Tan leather belt with a dark gray rectangular buckle.
- Tan weathered leather or leather-like pants with two seams above kneecap. Crinkle/pleated/gathered texture to the leather across front below kneecap seam.
- Beige or tan weathered boot spats with vertical quilting lines and round silver greeblies to be worn one on each outside ankle.
- Beige or tan flat-soled boots or shoes to wear under the boot spats.
- Hair pulled back into a long single braid. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs.
Optional Items:
- Tall blaster rifle
- Proper round thermal detonator
- ”1138” in red lettering on the upper right side of the helmet

Leia Organa (Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Slave Outfit)
Required Items:
- Burnished gold/copper metallic bikini top with correct decorative curvature. suede or suedecloth line the bust cups in the following approvable colors: dark taupe, grayish-green or medium gray. Thin black leather or elastic cording cross in back and attaches to sides of the bikini at shoulder on the top and at the sides on the bottom only.
- Two burnished gold/copper metallic decorated plates worn front and back at the hips, connected by oval gold/copper metallic pieces. Attached are two gathered skirt panels of a burgundy, wine or dark berry purple shade in an opaque, non-shiny, smooth fabric, no crush velvet, one panel per plate.
- Suede or suedecloth flat or low-heeled boots (heel should be no higher than 1.5”) in the following approvable colors: dark taupe, grayish-green or medium gray. Burnished gold/copper metallic decoration trim the top of each boot on an angle. Tailored boots only – no Ugg or other chunky or winter boots.
- Two burnished goldish/copper metallic bracelets: one at the right wrist – a large curvaceous cuff with a hole – and one at the upper left arm – snake-like with the ends looped in.
- Burnished gold/copper metallic collar with silver chain links.
- Hair in a large loosely twisted or loosely braided bun with a long braid descending from it. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs.
- Burnished goldish/copper metallic hair pieces on either side of the bun.
- Burnished goldish/copper metallic hair ornamental tie at end of the braid.
- Medium-sized gold hoop earrings.
Optional Items:
- Mid-sized or tall Unleashed vibroaxe

Required Items:
- Tan or beige shirt, short sleeves reaching almost to the elbow with a wide cuff, folded up with a vented pocket and flap partially sewn to the outside of each sleeve. The pocket can be tucked beneath the cuff or lay over the cuff.
- Medium gray vest with cap sleeves and decorative topstitching on the right-front and right-back yoke and around the bust.
- Rank insignia on the front right breast.
- Cool pale gray or pale blue twill pants, tailored with a natural waist height. A solid burnished yellow or gold non-shiny stripe about 1” wide on each side seam.
- Low-heeled black leather or leather-like, non-shiny riding boots. Boots must be at least calf-high and loose-fitting; no zippers unless covered.
- Black watch-like communication device on left wrist.
- Olive green 2” wide twill belt with a black metal slide in front, one black twill pouch on the left front, 2-3 black twill pouches in the back and a black leather or non-shiny vinyl holster.
- DDC Defender short-barrel blaster.
- Hair in braids wrapped around head with a densely braided figure eight-style bun in back. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs.

Leia Organa (Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Ewok Village Gown)
Required Items:
- Tan suede or suedecloth A-line dress reaching to the shins with a multi-length, multi-paneled skirt and princess seams. Short sleeved with a V-neck decorated with matching thin suede lacing crisscrossing down the lower half of the V-neck and tied. Matching thin suede lacing in crosses on the princess seams following along the whole length of the seam (to the waist) and the armhole seams. No grommets.
- Tan suede or suedecloth sash tied around the waist and dangling down the middle.
- White long sleeves of a natural-looking but crisp fabric and thin dark brown, charcoal gray or black suede or suede-like lace tied at the wrists. Long sleeves can be attached to the upper short sleeve of the dress but must be under the finished edge of the short sleeve with no visible stitching.
- Flat tailored tan sandals (multi-strap or multi-lacing sandal styles preferred).
- Long wavy hair (achieved on your own, or by extensions or a wig), pulled back off the face with a long braid that has thin tan suede lacing crossed around the braid. Naturally-occurring hair color only; no bangs.
