Princess Leia- Hoth Snow Ensemble

A Princess can't always wear a dress. I
decided to make the suit and I had
already done all of the research when I
got the crazy idea to do this in a week.
You can sleep on the way to the
con...right?
I used two vintage patterns the
jumpsuit
was the Kwiksew pattern and the vest
was Simplicity. The fabric is a
waterproof
fabric used for cold weather wear. I
loved
the texture and the colors looked great.
I
was able to alter the pattern and do all
of
the quilting (shoulders, arms, legs and
the
princess side front and back) added
piping
to the princess seams front and back
and
in the collar, after I altered it from the
vest pattern. My Com unit and Rank
badge are from Corellian Exports and I
did
the painting and finish work and
attachments on them myself. My boots,
I
wasn't sure which style I wanted but I
found a fantastic pair of boots that
looked
just like the Falcon Variants so
undecided
to go with that design and I hand
painted
them, added the straps which are also
hand painted leather.
My hair is my favorite part. Again I can
do either ginger or brown. But my hair
is
wrapped as a base and extra braids are
added over that. It feels like a crown. I
love it!
For props I have the Stormtrooper
blaster,
white leather gloves and all of the sassy
'Yes I am in charge' looks that I can fit
in;). This is the first cosplay I have ever
had that I wasn't cold in on the
convention
floor!
