Has anybody looked into this costume before? Asking for my girlfriend.

It looks to me like she is wearing a Gorka top maybe? But the colors don't seem to make sense.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Cheers, Evert

None of the Scarif Marines are actually wearing Gorka tops. The Gorka 3 and 4 tops are just an off the shelf item that is similar enough to use for a Scarif Marine costume.

Corporal Walea Timker is wearing a unique top. It does not have contrasting parts as the other Gorkaish tops. There are only three references of her. The one from the book and two screencaps from the movie. I do not think those are enough to identify the top but they should be enough to create a female Scarif Marine that looks similar to her.

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated!

We're trying to put a small group together this year.

Also, I was wondering if ATS leather gaiters would work for the Rogue One boots? Providing of course that you get the Chelsea boot in the same color brown.

Thanks! Smile

I do not think that those ATS leather gaiters would be approved because the CS only permits Swiss military-style leather gaiters with three straps across the back and one that goes under the arch of the boot. or anklet-style cuffs. The Swiss military-style leather gaiters can be purchased via eBay or online military stores but will not fit people with large calves. Personally, I think the anklet-cuffs are the better option. They can be tailored to the calf size of the wearer and are easily made with some leather that matches the color of the boots.

Thanks again for your swift reply. I really appreciate it.

I am aware of the Swiss gaiters. Thank you.

The reason I thought of the ATS type ones is because they are anklet cuffs and the only leather military anklet cuffs that I was aware of are the ATS type or the Home Guard models. The ATS ones are the darker leather ones that I thought most matched the color of the ones I saw on the brown Rogue One boots.

If I may ask, it looks to me that the Chelsea type boots used for the movie all seem to have had inside zippers. Were they, like the officer shoes, also produced by Frye boots?

I am trying to get as close to the originals as I possibly can. Something I am sure you can appreciate. Smile

The boots are actually not Chelsea boots. They are some type of leather boot that have a zipper on the inside, a second layer on top of the foot and the cuffs above the ankles. I do not know if Frye made those boots or not. As far as I know, only Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor wore Frye boots. Here are some reference photos.

Thank you again for the information and the pictures.

I never realized that Baze wore the same boots.

Thought they might be Frye as well as film productions usually try to work with one supplier. But in this case maybe not.

I truly appreciate the help you are giving me and I am very impressed with your response time.

Thank you.

Vielen dank!

Here is a link that might help you with the spats. It is a PDF file with a template. I cannot remember if I found it here forum or on the therpf.com.

Currently, I have a lot of spare time to sit on the computer and surf the internet because I am still on sick leave after suffering a distal radius fracture on my right arm on October 4th. I am right-handed and still cannot do much with that hand. That is very unfortunate because I have some costume projects that I cannot finish.

Amazing!

Again, thank you very much.

I am in a similar position at the moment. Usually I was always quite busy, but I have had a heart attack a few months ago and I am currently still recovering. So I find I have more time for things like this now... Very Happy

More research has been done on Walea Timker in this thread: female Scarif Marine references

It has been determined that the jacket worn by the female trooper running through the water is not the same as the one seen on Walea Timker in the Rogue One Visual Dictionary.

The woman running through the water is wearing a Gorka-style anorak which is covered under the existing Scarif Marine costume standards.

The jacket seen worn on Timker in the Visual Dictionary is not seen anywhere else so far. With only one image of that jacket, it unfortunately is not approvable yet per the charter since we can't see all sides of it.

Quote:
Rebel Legion charter IV.1.B.i. References
http://newsite.rebellegion.com/legion-charter/#h.1xa4e1azx3mx

"For a costume to be approved in the Rebel Legion, it must have visual references as follows:

[1] Two or more images that collectively show the front and back of the costume head-to-toe or a 360-degree head-to-toe turnaround of the character."

If someone is able to find more images please post!
