I've been following mbotastic () wonderful tutorial on how Riva is properly created and also wanted to create this character!
mbotastic Tutorial: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=93865&highlight=riva+rosetta

I starting collecting an itemized list of supplies purchased and happy to share them here along with the steps taken to create Riva.

The belt was challenging to find in the color gray, and ended up painting the belt with fabric spray paint. It's very durable and not flaking off.

PLC British Military Belt, worn inside out. $31.39 ebay

Gray fabric paint 6.84
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CT4ASO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Hose Connector Greebie $18.20
https://www.etsy.com/listing/609662315/rose-tico-code-cylinders-on-shoulder?ref=yr_purchases

Roll Pin Belt Buckle $9.35 ebay, painted

Scrap fabric to hide webbing.

Since Riva and Rose uniforms are nearly identical, I'm using Rose images as a guideline

The balaclava material, I wanted something stretching and soft.
Mood Fabric, Soft Rayon Jersey- 17.99
https://www.moodfabrics.com/applications/bottom-fabrics/legging-fabrics/light-brown-super-soft-rayon-jersey-fr20461

The pattern is a modified Assassin's Creed hood that I found online years ago.

I purchased the headpiece from the recommended RPF 3D prop maker.
The headphones are from Amazon, and in hindsight, would have purchased a different pair. The way the headphones sit on the visor creates additional stress so it's best to "choose wisely" for a proper pair.
The visor connects to the ear muffs by two screws and that structure ended up cracking. The 3D prop shop was very nice and created a supporting part that attaches under the visor. And, Morrigan went above and beyond and gave me a spare visor. I took my headpiece apart, rebuilt it and used JB epoxy to glue everything down. It turned out really nice!

Sony headphones 14.99

Ear muffs - $26.50

The inner vest is Kwik Sew Pattern 3453, but with a modified collar.

For the uniform, I used Simplicity 8722 pattern and Kwik Sew pattern 3389. The Simplicity pattern is used 95%, as Monk would say, and the Kwik Sew was just used for the waistband placement and zipper steps. I've used the Kwik Sew pattern before and had it on hand. It's not necessary to purchase both.

The fabric is from Mood and is organic duck canvas. It's a really soft canvas that isn't rigged like the duck canvas at Joann's. There's a huge difference between the two fabrics and recommend organic. The fabric was dyed in the washing machine and will be later distressed.

Natural 100% Certified Organic Cotton Duck Canvas from Mood Fabrics SKU 308967 / $72.45 / 5yards $72.45
https://www.moodfabrics.com/natural-100-certified-organic-cotton-duck-canvas-308967

Rit Synthetic Dye: 3 Daffodil Yellow & 1 Sandstone $19.12 / Amazon
Use the color chart off Rit website for the dye formula

The main time spent on Riva's coveralls is making the pockets and sewing felled seams. The pattern is well written, and I've documented the modified steps below following the CRL guidelines.

Rank Badge Greebie 22.99
Com Pad Greebie 24.99
I was working with two different greebies purchased at two different shops. There is a difference between a prop and a prop designed to be held in fabric.

The leg placement was way off after trying it on and had to resew it. I drapped the coveralls over my head, put my arms to the side, and placed the pocket near my fingertips.

The leg pocket should lay to the right of the felled seam, but depending on the size of the pattern, this may vary. ( I made a size XL and Medium at the same time and realized this )

Oops. I posted the wrong leg pocket photo. The last image above is a pocket for Rose Tico. I'm doing a Rose and a Riva costume. They are both similar builds but Riva has different top stitching on the pocket. There's two lines in the middle.

All better

I used the Kwik Sew pattern for the waistband placement, then added the zipper with a flap, and sewed everything together.

The back is modified using the Simplicity pattern. The top is cut on a fold instead in half. Addition: The waistband is roughly 2" wide.

Before sewing the sides together, place the coveralls over your shoulders to see if all the pockets are positioned correctly.

All of the decals are iron-on from Sarah's Etsy shop, Cloak & Corset https://www.etsy.com/shop/CloakandCorset

The hood pattern is modified. It attaches to the collar and has a curved design over the shoulder. There's also a center panel with a felled seams.

The sleeves felled seams need to line up with the felled seams on the front and back of the coveralls. Here's my pattern and it worked on the first try surprisingly !!

Almost done! Finish the hems on the arms and legs, and then weathering.

I used unscented natural beeswax for furniture and applied it with Annie Sloan wax brushed.
Beeswax $17.99

Just submitted for approval. This entire build cost $578.97.
