For those of you in Reserve status, it's come to our attention you may not have access to the Celebration thread on our main forum (not sure why permissions were changed to keep reserve members out of the main legion event forum or if that's being fixed).

Anyway - the convention is a great time for members to participate and help out! Some of you may even be able to become "active' members again if you are in the main legion group photo, detachment photos, or help with booth duty if you are not bringing a costume!

Here's the info you'd need:

Star Wars Celebration 2017 Rebel Legion Group Photo

The "Official" Rebel Legion Photo has been confirmed:

Date: Friday, April 14, 2017
Time: 1:30pm
Location: Main Staircase inside the convention center ( map will be provided shortly)

ReedPop will be providing a photographer to help make sure we get the best photo we possibly can.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

UPDATE 3/8/2017

Below will be the order for Groups and Detachments to be photographed following the main Legion photo. If you would like to be added to this list please leave a post or PM David (Moonsault).

In order to expedite the photographs and limit disruption of the convention space, PLEASE have your group's arrangement planned ahead of time so you can quickly take position when you are up!

Volunteer registration is now open at

Greetings, Rebels!

We are so looking forward to seeing members from all over the world visit us in Orlando in April! We know that each of you have been waiting anxiously to learn more about our booth and register to volunteer. We are so excited to finally be able to share this information with you!

Below is a comprehensive guide for both the booth and volunteering opportunities, including module descriptions, duties and rules.

We are listed as being located at booth 1506. Also, over the next couple of weeks, stay tuned to the Celebration Orlando forum as a variety of requests will go out from team leads.

This year, the Rebel Legion will have a 60' x 60' island booth in the main hall, equaling 3600 square feet of display space. Our booth will be divided into three different sectors as follows:

Sector 1: Rebel Legion Base Operations

This area will be the most traditional of the three areas that will be devoted to costume displays, membership information and demonstrations.

Our ever-popular card back backdrop will be a key stop for guests.
A portion is also designated for the Jedi News podcast.
Mannequins displaying member costumes will be the centerpiece of this area.

Sector 2: Rebel Legion Silent Auction

Legion Command Staff is hosting a silent auction to benefit the Peter Mayhew Foundation.
Bases from around the world are donating baskets filled with memorabilia and various other items.
Silent auction is open to the public.
All questions can be directed to the Legion Fundraising Officer.

Sector 3: Niima Outpost

This area is a fantastic opportunity to connect and engage with fans from all over the world. First, guests will be greeted with the sights and sounds of Rey's Niima Outpost.

Life-size moisture vaporators will stand and give guests a glimpse into the life of desert dwellers.
Scrap parts and shipping containers will dot the landscape providing the desired visual effect and additional photo opportunities.
Guests will be given a hands-on experience in our living CRL area which does double duty as an interactive queue. Guests will have an opportunity to touch and feel various materials and costume-making parts as they wait to take a photo with our booth centerpiece...

A 8' x 40' desert backdrop will loom over a recreation of Rey's AT-AT foot and will be the centerpiece, and primary photo opportunity, for the Outpost.

Volunteer Opportunities:

All of this, of course, will not be possible without the help of you, our members, volunteering your time and talents to make this year's event spectacular!

There are four modules in our booth that need staff for this event. Below are the duties for each module:

Costumed Members For Photo Ops:

Greet guests as they enter the booth.
Take photos with booth guests.
Provide additional security for displays.
Engage fans in general Legion merriment.
Additional guidelines for this module:

Costumes must look their best.
All pieces must be intact.
Cloth costumes must be pressed.

Legion Information Tables:

Greet guests as they enter the booth.
Answer general questions about the Rebel Legion.
Distribute Legion promotional materials.
Maintain potential recruit email registration list.
Keep area neat and tidy.
Assist with swag distribution.

Niima Outpost & Rey's AT-AT Foot Queue:

Greet guests as they enter the booth.
Answer general questions about the Rebel Legion.
Distribute Legion promotional materials.
Provide security for displays.
For this particular module, and to add to the overall atmosphere, we encourage members to dress in basic *desert* style clothing and colors (optional).

Silent Auction Security & Bidder Support:

Greet guests as they enter the booth.
Answer general questions about the Rebel Legion.
Provide security for silent auction items.
Provide bidder support by answering questions regarding items donated and bidding instructions.

Instructional signage will be provided to guests. However, we will also provide a FAQs sheet to our volunteers in this module to assist with bidder questions.

Please note that Legion and Ra Kura Command Staff will be present at all times should you, or a guest, need assistance.

Our goal is to provide a world class experience to attendees and LFL/ReedPOP. To that end, we ask that you follow some general guidelines:

Be on time for your registered slot to ensure that we can cover the booth and other volunteers can enjoy the con as well. If you are delayed, please let us know. Once you have registered to volunteer, you will receive a confirmation email containing contact information.
A changing/storage area will be located at the booth, however space is limited so this area is for members who are staffing the booth ONLY.

A hanging rack will be available.
Please be considerate of others and keep the changing room tidy.
Also, make sure to stay mindful of the limited space when you are packing your items in storage bins.

To maintain a professional appearance, no food or drink should be visible at the booth. Please keep these items inside the changing room located in the center of the booth behind curtains if at all possible.
To ensure the security of our displays, provide the best guest experience, and keep traffic moving request that children, friends and other family members do not remain in the booth area during your shift unless they are there to promote these goals. Please post your request for additional party members in your comments below. CS will be alerted and handle each request on a case-by-case basis.

We look forward to each of you demonstrating your enthusiasm and passion and making this year's event bigger and better!

{EDIT} For those opting for first shift, we are fully aware that you may be running late due to entry lines. No worries, though! We will have CS who have early access to the hall to open and will be able to staff the booth until you get there. Smile

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
